I've been doing a good bit of searching, on and off this forum so I apologize if some of the answers can be found elsewhere but it does seem like most things are just unknown with these newer model SMC-Rs. This is actually a buddies bike but I wanted to lend a hand due to his time constraints, and I've got a history of growing up+competing on dirt bikes and tracking street bikes. The goal is to have the ktm track ready - not competition.. but track ready which means it would be on the track with more purpose oriented competition street bikes. So it does need some more power. The suspension is fine for now, and currently have a PC5 + Rotty intake + SAS canister eliminator kit waiting for the right exhaust. The exhaust options seem a little dicey from what I've found... many come with a header which I doubt is really necessary apart from saying you have "titanium" or 1-2 pound weight reduction. They don't state their gains because as we all know dyno numbers are risky and subjective. Will another models Akro muffler+mid-pipe fit these bikes(he prefers akro) without fabrication? Has anyone tried fitting an FMF series kit? I have read that they can get significantly louder, but that is not a concern. And for anyone else, if you happen to have this motor and have done cat elimination + muffler kit (no fabrication) and a dyno, could you post your results and parts? The goal is to just squeeze every bit of power from PC5 letting the engine breath without requiring fabrication. Thanks all.

Hello Forum! this is my first post here. Im from Germany and looking for advice in mods for my '17 TE300 (see pic attached), since it feels slow on the top end (max 160kph) and doesnt really pull 6th gear (14/38 gearing). I am confused with this because the top speed and power at wot were better with the mikuni carb that came on it. It currently has 195h, piston and cylinder were replaced at 175h. Current mods: NGK B7eix iridium spark plug Billetron Carburetor (3-3B Rod) Vforce 4 Reed valve Supermoto Wheel set Beringer 320mm front brake with 4piston caliper and 10mm radial master cylinder Husqvarna FS 450 Forks Husqvarna FS 450 shock I would really appreciate if you could recommend a pipe that works at very high rpm (i have looked and found the scalvini one or the pro circuit platinum 2) I also want to put a head that features a lower squish (i have about 2.3mm right now, want to get to about 1.4) and a low compression ratio so i dont get issues with detonation and can use the overrev from the pipe. Does anyone have a VHM head with a custom insert for that purpose? feel free to share the measurements and any Feedback about pipes/heads that work at high rpm. Another thing i have read about is the SX300 CDI, sold by slavens (but much cheaper on ebay with the part number), there i would be interested in a dyno sheet since all slavens talks about is "using a higher gear" and "great overrev" which isn't really a hard fact to me. I would also greatly appreciate any recommendations for a steering damper since I have had death wobble when no load on front tire for a few times now. (wheel is balanced and runs true) Thanks in Advance & Best regards Clemens Zink

Hi all, I am new to the board and this is my first post. I have found a lot of info on the earlier model YZ/WR gear swaps fo get a taller and wider gear ratio in a Yz450. I just bought a 2017 YZ450F and I am converting to a supermoto. I will be riding mainly on the street and would like to get a wider gear ratio. Can you swap gears front he later model (2017ish) WR450’s to the Yz450’s? Or would I have swap the entire transmission? I would like to swap 1st, 4th & 5th ideally. Any info or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Okay its not a new subject Im sure. But I want to release the power from this old 2005 Japanese spec Xr400 Motard. Where I live in the world its hard to get a dirt bike on the road and there is next to no XR's to choose from. The Motard came up for the right price and its in great condition. So I have decided to make the best of what I can with it. I need to find out if I can swap parts from the R version on to the SM version. From the info I have read the SM has smaller valves and lower compression. Will R barrel and head be the right direction to go? Stage 1 or 2 cam ? Pumper carbs and opening the air box is a no brainer I assume. And of course the exhaust will need replacing to match the the R exhaust port. Please if you know about the R or the SM chime in and give me some advice.

I had a gsx-s750 and got rid of it and picked up a 2015 drz400sm this week. It's used and the last guy put knobbies on it. I'm switching back to Michelin power 2ct. stock tire size is 140/70. The current tires are 150/70. I was looking at running 160/60. Anyone know if this would be a problem? I'm just getting into the supermoto life so any other general suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Hey guys, So I picked up a set of DRZ400E rims. I have been looking for ages for a set of these! I have an '08 SM model. So luckily these will bolt right on with all the standard DRZ spacers that my SM already has. However, I hear this might require me to interchange my rotor in the front, to a rear SM rotor (front one is way too big for off road according to a few DRZ forums I am part of). The 400SM models front rotor is bolted on though which might make that tricky every time! Is anyone riding an SM, who also interchanges to E rims when needed? And what is your setup currently to make the interchange as fast and painless as possible? Including sprocket / chain sizes. I want to be able to change between E and SM standard rims without wanting to Sparta kick my bike over each time! PS: On the more social / networking side of things... Subscribe to my new-ish Youtube Channel, JenSM, to watch Cape Town Supermoto adventures (new video is there!). I will also be working on a few other videos that include my Yamaha TDR180 Scrambler rebuild. Any other Supermoto Street Legal crews / Supermoto riders / DRZ riders to subscribe to on Youtube, lurking around? Link me to your channels so that I can check your videos out!

Hello everyone! ? I would like some help regarding which Supermoto-style front fenders fits a 2017 KTM 500 EXC-F Six Days. There's 2 screw holes in the back off my current off-road fender that mounts in the back of the lower clamp. A friend suggested a 690 SMC-R or Husky FS300-570 but I'm not sure since I've only seen pictures. (OEM partnumber: 7730821000028)

I figured it's time to start my own forum post instead of piggy backing off someone else's. I grew up on dirt bikes mainly Honda XR's and love 'em, but I haven't owned a motorcycle in over a decade since I sold mine to move out West (Salt Lake City, UT). I found a dead XR400r bottom end and frame from someone on our local classified website for $150 with title. Turns out he couldn't get the swing arm bolt out and parted out the bike instead. So what you see is literally all I had of the bike. So far I have purchased the following: $150 1999 XR400R bottom end and frame with title plus miscellaneous parts (brake caliper, wiring harness, oil pump, etc) $25 2002 CR250 triple clamp $200 2002 Ninja ZX12R rolling chassis - will be selling extra parts to recoup some coats $610 Used Cylinder head, valve cover, clutch cover, CDI Box, coil, rectifier, stater cover, stater, kick starter, and New Big bore kit with Weisco piston Well I learned taking the swing arm bolt out really, really, REALLY effing sux! However, with enough determination, patience, and a drill press the bolt will come out! I ended up cutting the bolt right next to the case with a grinder and finally had success. I guesstimate I have about 10 hours alone in just removing the bolt. My goal is to copy (yes copy) at least to a degree the Classified Moto Movember bike in essence. I will be painting mine in some fancy color scheme though. I will be using the Ninja front end, but nothing else. First question I have is, will the CR250 triple clamp work on the XR400R frame, if not I'll just resell it, no big deal. I read on several forums they are somewhat swappable?

Going to look at a 560 SMR this weekend. I want to convert it to offload use. Who's ready for a easy conversion. I would like to do a complete front end swap and swap wheels. The 560 currently has 17" Excels, brand new Dunlops, Beringer brakes. Everything looks super clean. Let me know what you have and make an offer.

SuMo Time: Sumotoberfest SuperSprechermoto SuMoSwarm w/ Friends Menards in Carpentersville, Illinois 10AM meet... SUNDAY: 52–72°Mostly Sunny THis is actually a combination of two groups meeting up... mostly backroads, twists, turns... Supermoto Swarm There are currently around 12 people in each group and more joining by the hour. We're avoiding gravel and offroad this time so we can include our Supermoto-challenged friends =D -- so bring a friend, or a 'backpack'. Yes, sometimes we go fast -- but the group waits for people to catch up. So, just come ride! While we, as a primarily Supermoto group, really love having as many supermotos as possible out on rides, bring your Supermoto if you have one, otherwise bring whatever. Bring a friend. I don't know how well a GROM would keep up. We've got KTMs, Suzukis, Yamahas, Husq, ducati, etc... Most of the time we're all back to the launch point by 2:30 / 3PM, but it just depends. http://www.sprecherspub.com/ The group is not a internet gawker group -- we're a group that RIDES -- not TALKS about riding -- but RIDES.
