  1. So basically. I got this yuuuuggeee RM250 in a trade. It is a really nice bike. I really didn't know much about it when I got it, except that it was very pretty and extremely fast. Anyways, I look it up and find that its the only year of air cooled engine w/ mono shock suspension. Anyways I have been storing the bike ever since on inside of my house and I think its time to make some space. The bike deserves to be ridden more... Honestly, I am a little afraid of how fast it is! And in case you can't tell where this is going... I decided to sell the bike and thought maybe you would be interested. I know its not from the best era or the coolest bike you've ever seen... But it is clean, fast, and pretty dang rare. If you appreciated that I didn't just throw this at you and say BUY MY BIKE and instead wrote a semi-thoughtful write up about it and then hooked in the advertisement at the end.   2. OK here goes... Picked up an 04 200 EXC few months back, needed some work to say the least, wont go into detail of all the things i've fixed on the bike just the current and most present issue I cant seem to fix... it is smoking IE blue smoke/lots of splooge to the point that at the end of a few hour's ride, it's out the tail pipe, running down the back and dripping onto the swing arm/rear break caliper and blue smoking quite a bit. When I first got it, it smoked more and smelled like shit. So first things first went to the carb, I live on the Oregon coast (elevation/temp reference) it's old dirty/stained but inside looks good, came with jetting pilot-45, main-178 needle: no idea what brand guessing stock in the 3rd clip, adjusted the float height due to it leaking gas when bike was upright no tilt with the gas on, Bought JD jet kit and running pilot-45, Main-185 and Needle is blue 3rd clip (JD's recommend specs for my bike @ my attitude). I have also replaced my Inner crankcase seal twice (First time I thought I messed up the O-ring so redid to make sure). I've rebuilt the top end/new piston (same thing) cleaned the PV, NOTE HERE that the PV has some issues, it seems to work fine but the screw that goes on top of the cylinder, down into the PV/flap would not come out preventing me from removing the flap to clean it, however it move's/ function's correctly, and has minimum clearance on both sides. One of the PV cover bolts that also works at the exhaust spring holder, was over torqued at some point (impact driver prob), or a result in a hard impact, the hole the bolt goes into is flailed/jared open a bit, not bad, not in the way of any function/ PV Gearing/hinge, it is not needed for that area to be air tight as their is also a breather that goes out of the PV so will not result in an "air leak" or loss in Top end PSI.... anyway... it's still smoking.... quite a bit.. now the bike itself rides fine I feel, the carb does puke gas when tilted over slightly/ hard to start (kick start) after flooded (like all bikes tho) I don't have any stalling/low idle issues outside of user error on clutch control. Honestly outside of it smoking as much as it does I would think nothing is wrong with it.. I have also tried raising the needle Clip to 2nd clip and it changed nothing at all, not even feel of the bike/response and have a new Spark plug I have yet to put on the bike. I have also "compromised" the crankcase Gasket (new one in the mail) while I was putting the Crankcase back on but that should do nothing with the exhaust just a little gear oil leak not relevant but throwing it out there. So I am at a loss... I've been toying with the idea of getting a Lectron carb... However... would hate to drop $400~$500 and the issue still persist, if it's a jetting/carb/float issue that would fix it and improve MPH/fuel consumption Or something with the PV? but I don't see the PV causing that much smoke/sploogee... I've ridden the bike normally/hard and nothing's happened but I don't want to keep pushing it and possibly clip the bike. Any ideas? "Oh help me 2 stroke community you're my only hope"
  3. Hey all, im shopping for my first two stroke. I’m a woods rider and I’ve found what looks like a great deal on an 250 sx. Changes in bike thus far are lower gearing on chain and softer spring on shock, bark busters and handlebar risers. I will certainly need an xc gas tank and probably work on forks. Anything else I can/should do to make this single track worthy?
  4. Hey guys/girls, I'm looking at buying a new KTM and don't want to spend the money without riding one first. I'm on the fence between the 250 and 300xc models. I race c class in local hare scrambles and will be racing my first GNCC (Camp Coker) in a few weeks (I'm pretty slow btw). I love casual trail riding as well. My current bike is an 09 200xc. My riding buddy has a 2020 300 husky and It is an absolute dream to ride, but at 170lbs wet I'm not sure I wouldn't be just as happy with a 250 and have less felt weight in the single tracks. I'm always looking for new people to ride with and would enjoy meeting up with someone at a local compound. We have a pretty awesome private 6mile loop in Sumter, SC also. Its tough to spend 10k on something without giving it a test ride... Hit me up if anyone's interested, KTM or not!!
  5. The RM125 seems to be in good condition. It has recently had a full engine rebuild. My CR85R is in good condition and I just rebuilt my top end and put a new rear shock and wheel assembly on it. Do you all think this would be a good trade and why or why not?
  6. Hey guys- I am at a point where i can move up to big bike if i want to. I am 15, 5"7', and growing. I have an xr100 now that has been fun for the past few months. my question is- should i get a big bike or buy like a klx110 and mod it out? Those little bikes are just so much fun, but on the other hand a big bike would allow me to ride more than just little trails and such. Also, all my buddies have big bikes so if i got a pit bike and modded it out i would still not be able to keep up with them. any input welcome. Thanks!
  7. Hi, I know this question might be weird but does anyone know a dealer that sells both RV'sand motorcycles in a 100km radius of Ottawa/Gatineau area? I'm looking to trade my 34ft RV for a new bike. I currently have a 1992 Honda XR250L and I'm looking to get a newer second bike like maybe a recent DRZ-400 or a recent WR250R.   8. I have a 2012 kx250f and it has a lot of bottom end power but hits rev limiter so fast it has a slow top speed and loses so much too end because of it. Any ideas if it is because of ecu or what it could be? Also i have a yoshimura PIM 2 tuner could that be the cause?

  10. Hey guys I was wondering if you could tell me if this stator looks okay and is right. It’s off a 2010 KTM 250 XC. I just pulled it off the other day to grease up the e-starting gears, and I don’t know much about the ignition system so could someone tells me if this stator is supposed to look like this? I’ve since cleaned up all the black crude. Thanks
  11. Hello soldiers of mud DRZ 400: cheap bolts brought me here. my bike had replacement anodized bolt - M6: the seat bolt broke off in the frame threaded hole. I have to drill it. If I re-thread it, I have to move up a bolt size correct? Now I could weld an M6 NUT behind the drilled out frame hole. But I dont have a welder available. If I use a JB weld (weld in a tube) will it hold a nut to the frame? If it doesn't, then i'll struggle to get the bolt out of the nut...... rethread and move up to an M7? Bolt OR will JB weld hold a nut to the frame of the bike where the seat hole is on the bike's frame? Thanks!!
  12. I am 15 years old and am looking for a new dirt bike. My first bike was an ssr110 with a manual transmission and I got it 3 years ago. I'm looking for something new and reliable. I would say I'm an intermediate rider and I drive mostly on the road and a small trail in my backyard, about an acre big. I'm 5'6" and weigh 120 pounds. Some stuff I didn't like about the ssr is that it became unreliable recently. It was good for the first 2 years but crapped out for the last 1. The most important thing I'm looking for is a very reliable and low maintenance bike as I am not very mechanically inclined. It also needs to have an electric start, (preferably with a kick start too, but not required) a key needed to start it, (There are younger kids I don't want riding it without someone watching them) it also needs to be a manual with a clutch that's easy enough for a younger kid to pull. The budget is around 4000 and it'll be mostly for play riding. I'm looking at a Honda crf125f big wheel or a Yamaha ttr125le.

I purchased this bike a few months ago it had some problems with it but it was a cheap project bike for my girlfriend to learn how to ride on in the past few weeks I've been slowly doing some upgrades one of them being a new engine i brought online the old engine had a crack by the kick start not to mention it was a semi automatic i put a manual one in it. So my question/problem is the original engine witch I don't have anymore had 5 wires comeing from the stator red/black, blue/white, green, white, and yellow the new engine i purchased has red/black, blue/white, green then the tricky ones it had two yellow wires how do I figure out witch yellow wires connects to the original wire harness on the bike does it even matter if there swaped. A little more information the engine i put on the bike is one of the typical Chinese engines you would find on any off brand atv/pitbike/from clone. I would highly appreciate any help I can get thanks in advance
  14. I did it. Finally quit beating around the bush and decided to go for it. Now the proud owner of a bran-USED 2014 KTM 350 XC-F. Bought it today, only had the chance to ride it down the road and back and I think I’m in for a treat. Previously had a 250 XC that I bought used November of 2016. Kept buying parts and constantly working on it to get it where I want it, but with out any luck so I decided to go back on the four stroke route. Anyone have any recommendations for aftermarket on it? It already has a lot including a skid plate, boyesen super cooler water pump, hand guards, rear brake rotor guard, radiator braces, mouse bibs in the tires, brand new Dunlop MX 3 S tires, radiator fan, shorai lithium battery, side grab bar, and ktm silicone hoses.
  15. Hi guys, probably a stupid question here, but I figure you can never be too safe. I have some Motorex 15w-50 from my 2010 KTM 250 XC (which I sold) and I was wondering if it would be okay to run in my 2014 KTM 350 XC-F which calls for Motorex 10w-50? What would be the side effects of running a 15w-50 instead of a 10w-50? Also, if you have any suggestions of good oil to run, please feel free to recommend it and give your reasons why. Thanks guys.   16. Hey I got a 2017 Honda Crf150r that I purchases a few weeks ago. I paid 2900 for it. I rode it around and it rode great. Since then I've ridden it around a lot and its super fun. I realized that once its warmed up that it has a hanging idle and I'm not sure what to do because I want to sell it and would like to fix that problem. I would normally know how to fix this problem on a carbureted bike but fuel injection is new territory for me so I fell pretty lost. If someone would let me know what to do I would really appreciate it. Thank you!!!
  17. hi i'm new here and to motorcycles.. i need help please i have a 2 stroke 50cc china motorcycle jianshe JS50 (yamaha copy) I had it bored to 90cc with new carb (24mm from 14mm) and a custom exhaust the carburetor brand is nibbi still have my old spark plug on it. when i ride on low RPM the engine response is pretty good but when i rev it higher it seems to bog down.. it doesn't stall it just feels like it's getting weaker. On higher rpm's i would also feel jerky or inconsistent with the acceleration. My mechanic said it was the clutch, but my bike doesn't do that before i had it modified. I've read on some forums that i should adjust my jet needle to lower grooves, i tried it.. there are 5 grooves on my needle and it was set in the middle so i adjusted it lower to make it richer but it just made my bike slower (is that normal at first?) then i tried to adjust to a leaner groove it didn't make much difference. should i try to adjust to the leanest setting on the needle or is that unsafe? when i try to pull full throttle that response is bad and delayed. on neutral it i can pull the throttle full and it sounds great Has anyone had a similar problem? I'm open to suggestions please HELP!!!

  20. Hey guys, I recently dumped my KTM 690 in a rather large mud puddle. After washing it A LOT, and cleaning out the wires/battery under the seat I have found a new problem, it won't start as it should. It starts occasionally but most of the time there is a "buzzing" or "squealing" sound coming from what seems to be the fuse box when the starter is engaged. Has anyone else had this problem? Everything else seems to be running properly, though I have heard the buzzing noise most of the internet seem to attribute to the "fuel pump" priming, it sounds more like a solenoid to me but I'm not well versed in electronics. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance. The youtube link shows the starting issue
  21. Before I start - Supermoto wheels are insanely expensive, and I'm not looking to spend 1000 dollars on wheels. OK... Here's my stupid question- Can I put most normal motorcycle wheels on my dirtbike? I am open to doing mounting modifications for brakes, other bits. (I have a 2013 Husqvarna TXC310r) Any kind of feedback is helpful.
  22. Hey guys I was wondering if any of you could help me out. I’ve got a 2010 KTM 250 XC that just doesn’t rip like a normal two stroke should. When I get up to the top end power it just signs off really early, causing me to shift really early. I can’t figure out why it’s doing that for the life of me. My jetting is spot on for th altitude I ride, the spark plug is a perfect brown coffee color, (170 main, 40 pilot, Suzuki NECJ Needle on 3rd clip) so it can’t be that. (I went with the Suzuki needle because I read on here that it could give it more top end, it did but not the amount it should have) and it I just put on new reed petals for the V-Force 4 reed system, new FMF Fatty and FMF Turbinecore 2 pipes, stock gearing (13:50), yellow power valve spring (red spring doesn’t help either) aggressive engine map, and it still signs off early on top. I bought the bike used, and the previous owner had it choked up so it acted more like a four stroke. The only thing I haven’t looked at is if it has a fly wheel weight, but that wouldn’t necessarily make it act less wild like a two-stroke, would it? I need some suggestions and I would greatly appreciate the help!

Ok so i put my rims and tires on for my supermoto conversion and it looks bad ass, i ordered a high out put stator to get rid of the problem i had with the baja designs light kit, so im installing it tonight, im curious as to whether or not i will need a new battery or special kind of battery for the new stator. its a trail tech high out put stator for my 2013 wr250f. i mean i guess ill find out tonight after i install it. i bought a new battery anyway that hopefully works out ok with no problems. but just curious if anybody else has experience with this.
