  1. Hi Everyone, I'd like to start a 3D printing Mega Thread. I have a small household 3D printer and love finding new ways to use it. I was searching on Thingiverse ( http://www.thingiverse.com/search/page:1?q=dirt+bike&sa=) and found a few dirt bike pieces and parts, but it would be great if people could share what else they have! I've printed some spare levers and stuff from Thingiverse, but there's much more we could design and share. Brake and frame guards, brake line guides, hand guard shield replacements, gopro mounts, the list goes on. Even just prints for around the garage that you'd like to share. If anyone has some STL files to share please post them below! It could be a really cool resource to have for fellow TT visitors. Thanks.
  2. Hello, I was rebuilding my bottom end in my 1999 wr400 because the crankshaft broke on it. Bought a 1998 yz400 crank to put in it and after measuring them, the can chain timing gear on the crank is ~0.5mm different between the two along the shaft. The rod bearings on the yz are also bigger but that shouldn't be an issue. Should I be ok or do I need to buy a wr specific crank off of fleabay? Thanks for the responses!
  3. When I picked up my 87 XR6r the PO had a ton of extra parts that I now have. I already sold the extra tank and seat but I still have: Front wheel with rotor and axle-$75 Front fork assembly- $100 Front fender-$25 Rear Fender-$25 Stock Speedometer-$30 (turns on, but wont properly display speed/functions. Only 7's across the screen 🤦) Headlight housing with glass-$30 I think there are some other bits and pieces too in the box. I can post up pics later or if you are interested shoot me a text and I can send pics asap! I can also gather shipping quotes for you. I am in Washington State. Thanks guys 573-619-4666
  4. I have been working on a 1973 Mt250 for a little over a year now trying to rebuild the motor. The parts are impossible to find. I am hoping that someone knows where to locate a complete gasket set for a 73 year model. I have tried gaskets from the 74-76 with no luck. It will be sad to see this bike never be completed because I can't find the right parts! Thanks in advance for any and all help!! Lets get this bike back to its former glory!

  6. Hi! I got a killer deal on a 1985 XL350R last fall and rode it around a bit, bought the gasket/seal kit for the entire engine, it was seeping oil. With the unscheduled free time I currently have I decided to tackle that project. Things are going smooth all except for this... when I opened the crank case up there was a tiny metal “cup” just sitting in the bottom (circled where it was sitting on the photo). I cannot for the life of me find where it goes, I’ve scoured the web for photos, looked at parts exploded view diagrams and spoke with a couple of the guys at the local motorcycle shop. I found one spot (Also marked on photo) that it’ll fit but photos of this side of the crank case online seem to show the hole (in the case wall between piston rod and timing chain) being open and unobstructed. Please help!! I’m still waiting on some parts in the mail (things shipping slow these days) but I’d like to start getting this thing out back together!! thanks!

  8. Hi all. Spring is coming and with it trail riding season. That being said I’m getting my bike ready and was wanting to undo what the previous owner has done. I bought my bike without a starter and it’s components. I’m not concerned about “saving weight.” What I would like is to be able to start my bike in awkward places on the trail when needed. I never received any parts with the bike that is involved with the electric start. It appears that everything from the wiring to the components in the case are missing. What all parts would I need to put this system back together? Maybe someone who has removed their electric start system years ago has one laying around that they might part with? 😅
  9. Howzit to all, new guy here from South Africa and a proud owner of an old (new to me) XR. One major catch for me has been the fact that I've got an '87 XR600 Dual Carb motor in a XR500RE frame, so finding parts have been doubly as challenging as would normally be the case. That being the case I decided to start doing some extensive research in terms of parts compatibility between bikes. This has taken me hours and hours, but the good thing is I've now got a reasonably good idea of which parts will work on which and also which parts will likely be compatible, despite part numbers being different. Since there doesn't seem to be any decent resource detailing parts cross compatibility across the XR range I figure it would be a good first post to make on TT. So, attached my current spreadsheet of compatible parts across other Honda and XR/XL models. Several caveats here though: This sheet covers US models only, though from what I've been able to glean so far there really is hardly any difference to models from other continents in terms of mechanics Said sheet will likely contain some errors and typos, so please don't take my word for anything; do your own research on a particular component to be sure. You use this sheet at your own risk! It's meant to be a guide - nothing more, nothing less. I'm planning to later on make an expanded version of the sheet to include all XR/XL models from 200cc upwards, but it will be a while still before that becomes available.   10. Hello fellow riders. there is a trend that i see with Japanese brands which is they love to use same parts or designs on different bikes even from different manufacturers. Which in the end works for us customers. We can find same parts cheaper or more avaible but labeled for another bike. Esspecially in markets where DRZs are rare and/or discontinued (Europe etc) Also for bearings seals and o-rings. most of them are off the shelf products. i like to buy my parts from reputable manufacturers like skf-koyo-ariete when you buy those as a "kit" from a company that doesnt produce any of that stuff you often pay for package than product itself and theyre mostly inferior. So i will try to list the parts that i know compatible with drz400 and if you can chime in on this post with your knowledge i will add those as well. DRZ400SM --------------- -Front forks: Looks like same unit as on honda CR and suzuki rmz bikes (maybe sm travel is shorter) but i think fork internal spares are compatible. (Need confirmation on fork covers, not sure bottom lugs are same with every bike uses this shock. its near impossible to find fork covers for drz even in aftermarket plastics kits) Ariete"Ari" Seals 2007 ARI.117 size and model: DC4Y - 48 X 58,2 X 8,5/10,5 prtno. 51153-28H30 2007 ARI.126 size and model: Y-1 - 48 X 58,5/62 X 6/11,5 prtno. 51173-28H30 (Dust seal for ARI.117) 2005-2006 ARI.105 size and model: TC4 - 47 X 58 X 10 prtno. 51153-37F80 2005-2006 ARI.106 size and model: SG5 - 47 X 58,5/62 X 6/10,3 prtno. 51173-37F80 (Dust seal for ARI.105) (not sure if drz went to 48mm forks on 2007. tc4 model has one steel spring where as dc4y has 2, also different design on sealing surfaces. i assume its for choice of fork sticktion vs sealing power. SKF seals Kit47S Kit47SHD (labeled as "Heavy Duty") SKF Mud Scrapers MS 47S Bushings SKTE/TI 47S -Front brake disc Same hole pattern as Yamaha wr and yz lines of bikes -Front brake pads: Theese exact calipers and pad design used all across dirtbikes from japan and even on gasgas and beta bikes.(too many to list) EBC FA185R for sintered or FA185X for carbon pads (thats the brand that i use you may contribute with other brands part number as well) -Front brake caliper rebuild kits for pretty much all Japanese dirt bikes of the era, can be further detailed. Rm125 Rm250 Rmz450 Rmx450 (2011-2017) dr650 are the ones for suzuki -Front master cylinder: "Road" type master cylinder with bigger reservoir than most dirt bikes. suzuki part fiche shows it has the same piston as intruder1400 cruiser and dr 125 and dr350 bikes -Radiator Louver Same with rm125(till 2008) and rm250 (till 2005) range can be more than that. checking on european resources. -Rear shock S and SM units have different part number. probably sm has shorter travel. since parts fiche doesnt show any inner parts cant confirm suzuki-wide compatibility. But its a pretty wide spread shock produced by showa and used on many bikes arround (with different lenghts of travel and valving etc) Needs more info on bushings and seals and o-rings. -Rear Sprocket Same bolt pattern as rmz ones. -Front sprocket Needs more info -Bearings Steering stem bearings: same across most Suzuki dirt bikes from 1991 to 2019 (specs are welcome to make it easier to find bearings from other manufacturers like skf) Engine bearings: (needs further info. while some bearings are standart off the shelf products some of them are produced just for suzuki with 1milimeters of difference than standart sized ones. thus fitting anything other than oem impossible. size info needed for standard bearings. Swing arm and wheel bearings: As most of us know drz sm uses old rm125 and rm250 swingarm. Thus shares bearings bushings and spacers. Detailed sizing info needed for aftermarket bearing compatibility. Hey everyone I have an 03 cr125, with a good skid plate, a lectron carb, wrap around hand-guards, armadillo pipe guard, and a pipe that I am 75% sure is a Bill’s Pipe. what I am asking is, are there any crucial parts/mods that I am missing to begin hare scramble racing?   17. I was wondering if anyone knew of a salvage yard or some place I can go to get used motorcycle parts basically anywhere north of Atlanta? I'm trying to find a WR450 exhaust cam as well as some 450 throttle cables but I'm having no luck. Checked ebay but I don't want to pay $170 for a new exhaust cam and figured if I could find a scrap or parts yard I could just go pull what I needed.

  19. Long time reader, first time poster. After 4 great years with my DRZ, I finally decided I need to change bikes. My question is what is the best way to get the most value out of my DRZ. I stopped in a local dealer to check out a V-Strom and they mentioned they don't factor in add-ons to trade in value, because they don't factor them into sales price on used stock either. I'm not sure if this is typical or not. So what to do? Do I: 1) Trade-in the DRZ with all the add-ons 2) Strip the add-ons, replace with the OEM parts I kept, trade-in stock bike and sell add-ons used 3) Buy the new bike and sell the DRZ privately? Some info about the bike: 2013 Suzuki DRZ-400S, black. ~8,000 miles. I kept all the factory parts after upgrading with the following: Suzuki kick-start kit, Clarke 3.9 gal tank, Seat Concepts 1" lower seat with wide rear of seat, TCI Products skid plate, TCI products engine guards, ThumperTalk crank case covers, TCI Products Denali rack with Nelson-Rigg saddlebags and top bag, Tusk hand guards, Radiator guards, Dunlop D606 tires (front has low treads and should be replaced), X-grip phone holder and a USB/cigarette lighter plug wired to the battery and mounted to the handlebars for phone charging, wired a trickle-charger plug-in to keep battery charged between longer periods without use, and an Air Hawk seat cushion. I basically tried to set it up as an Adventure Tourer, but don't actually have time for adventuring. The bike did some small amounts of local trail riding, but not much. It was mainly used as a back-roads commuter. I love the bike, but its not great for 2-up riding for any real distance. I ALMOST talked the wife into getting her own bike, but that's not gonna happen now. Hence my looking for a V-Strom.   21. Hey all - I recently picked up a 2003 YZ450F, runs like a top, I've been a road bike guy forever, but decided to get back into riding on dirt. I've been looking high and low for some parts, specifically for example a Timing Cover Gasket, I can't seem to find a website which has a pretty good selection or pricing, I am here in the States, where is a pretty decent place to get parts? I've looked on Zilla, Cyclegear, RockyMountain, etc. and none of them had the Timing cover gasket, and I'm betting there are a lot more parts missing that I haven't thought of needing yet. Thanks!
  22. All - I'm having a hard time finding a stator and flywheel for a project 1998 RM 125 that I am working on. I found a complete but it's for a 1994 model - any idea if it will work? More generally, how can I figure out if parts from a different year will work on my bike? Thanks! Chris
