  1. Want to plate a '16 xcfw 350 with low profile lighting, (single track), but obviously bright enough to be seen on the road. Was gonna just order a Sicass kit; but I thought it might be best to ask whether piecing it together is better. Since the bike does not have handguards I've been thinking of using HDB guards with switches in top mount for headlight, and whatever. Thoughts? My one major electrical experience is putting a dash and eastern beaver fuse box on my vstrom - aux lighting, heated grips, etc. Thanks, John
  2. I got a question. I own a 2016 KX 85. It ran amazing after it first bought it used. I was riding one day with a bogging issue and about 35 minutes of riding I shut it off to take a break. Came back 20 minutes later and it would not start.I changed the spark plug, cleaned out the carb,checked the reeds,and tried hill starting it but nothing .When ever I try to hill start it I can hear it trying to crank and It starts for like half a second but then dies.There is spark coming from the plug though.I took the cylinder off and the piston and cylinder are &%$#@!ed.The piston rings were stuck in the grooves and I had to use pliers and a screwdriver to get it out.There was a ton of blow-by and the cylinder was scored.I bought a new piston already but how can I fix my cylinder.Im thinking of getting it repaired and replayed by either millennium,PowerSeal USA, or usnicom.This is my first time owning a 2 stroke.Any answers or tips.

  4. Has anyone tried to remove the chrome plating on their pipe? I wanted to get a works raw finish pipe for my 2000 CR250R , but FMF ,Pro Circuit, Bill's no longer make the non plated works pipes for the 2000-2001 anymore. I have a FMF SST and it is in pretty good shape still it only has a few small dings in the expansion chamber. I did see a guy on You Tube do some chrome plating removal using his "special" chemicals and using a variable low voltage power unit for what looks like a electrolysis process to remove the chrome, then a second "special" chemical with a different voltage to remove the nickle plating under the chrome. Sadly I don't have his "special" chemicals nor a variable low voltage power supply just sitting around. Any suggestions on how to DIY it at home? Thanks
  5. Hello All, It's been a couple years since I've been here, I hope everyone has been weathering this insidious pandemic bs well, I'm in the middle of plating my '18 250i. And just like everything else, I just don't freaking know when to quit. Couldn't find a lighting kit that met my aesthetic requirements, so am piecing one together. Put switches on both front and back brakes, because anyone who uses only back brakes on the road is a idiot, and anyone who uses front brakes on the dirt obviously like to crash a lot, and I don't want to chance either forgetting to let drivers behind me I'm slowing down, or hitting the rear brake enough to close the switch and sliding out because that was just enough to override the limited grip my DOT knobbies give me on asphalt. So then I just couldn't freaking live with it unless I had a emergency flasher, but didn't want to go to a 4 wire turn system, and didn't want to add an extra isolating relay, due to both the additional weight, and the probability of the coil going out after just a few hours of singletrack, so spent hours searching for a stand alone four wire two pole single throw toggle,(2PST4W), with both N/O contacts to keep the sides isolated. Then it only got worse, and now I'm hoping for some guidance from my Fellow European brothers. I'm fabricating a plate to mount the 4 wire key switch,( two will go to a hidden toggle, with scrambled color coded wires that will cause a thief to blow an inline fuse if trying to hot wire), included on that plate will be some LED indicators, left/right amber, high beam blue, relocated red low oil, and I'm already losing sleep trying to find a neutral gear switch to feed the green LED that really should be included. The US models were intentionally not sold street legal, much to my chagrin, however, there are some unused connectors indicating to me that at least some of the EU parts, like the main wire loom, were used on the US models too. I hate the way Husqvarna did the repair manual, perhaps they've had a fit of guilt since the first publication and made later publications a little more technical with cross referencing, but I am not inclined to purchase another shop manual in those hopes. I'm wondering, does anyone know if the EU models have those neutral indicators? If so, how/what is at the shifter for the switch? Thanks in advance. Keep the rubber side down when coming in for a landing, all other times are optional.
