Hey DRZers. I have a question for those with the experience and knowledge. I have two DRZ400Es('01 and '02). Both have full aftermarket exhausts with spark arrestors. The 2001 is street legal and the '02 is not, as of yet(fingers crossed), I'm in CA. On the '01 it has a full Yoshimura Comp exhaust and I am wondering which set up better or the differences in performance characteristics. I can't just jump on each bike to do testing as the '02 is not registered yet because I am attempting to get it street legal. So I was wondering if anyone on here has first hand experience and knowledge of these two systems on these bikes. I want to take the best off both bikes and then sell off the other once the '02 is street legal. I will note that the Yoshimura system was probably put on the bike back in 2001-02 as the bike was fully set up for desert runs with ProCircuit Suspension tuning, Tokyo Mods Carb work(which was crap) and a Baja Kit light set up. I state this because the Yoshi system is old and must be straight from the designs they made for Mike Kiedrowski and Suzuki's eduro team. Also, the header on the Yoshi is about 3cm larger on the OD than the T4. Here are two photos of the Yoshi system. The T4 muffler is significantly smaller in diameter and rides higher up next to the fender. I'm planning to make sure one of the bikes if fully buttoned up tight for a first time entry into the Barstow to Vegas race in November. weight is of some concern. Thanks guys!!!

Hey I was just wondering if anyone could help me with jetting specs and proper premix ratio. I have a 2004 yz250 2 stroke with v force reeds, and a pro circuit fatty pipe. Mostly trail ride and hill climb with some track activity. Was wondering if anyone e could shed some light because it seems like I'm running super rich. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hey guys, about finished with my 89 cr restore. Well, mechanically. Its still looks like it fell out the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down, buuuut, I just went to slap my exhaust on and break in the fresh top end, ans realized I left the expansion chamber on the back burner and its caked in carbon, and covered in splooged all inside. My question to you fine people is this: best solvent/method of cleaning the inside of an expansion chamber. This thing has been hammered by years of an idiotic owner who couldn't mix gas correctly nor maintain his investment. Either way, its the Works pipe which they no longer make for the CR, so I would REALLY like to refurb it to brand new. I heard the heat method is no good for stainless expansion chambers, and although I am a welder, I'd rather not cut into the pipe itself. I also have too much pride to pay someone else to do it. So, any ideas? Thanks!

I want to get a pc silencer for my 2011 yz125. It has vforce 3 reeds, Athena jug (125) and stock exhaust system. Stock jetting I see almost every 125 with a pro circuit with a r304. I just am debating whether to go with the shorty or the longer 304 factory sound. I hear that the stock pipe and r304 is a good combo. My only concern is that the R-304 shorty may kill overrev? I was also thinking I should put a 420 main in after the smaller silencer as I know that in 2011 they put on a longer silencer and changed then main from a 410 to a 430. If anyone has experience with these silencers I would greatly appreciate your input, thanks!

Which brand of exhaust do you prefer over the others? Pro Circuit, FMF, or other? Why?

Hey guys I hate to be the kind of person who makes these kind of posts but I’m lost and need some help. I picked up an 03 250 the other day and it ran pretty well. Maybe a little bog at 3/4th throttle, but nothing major. Went out today to take it on it’s first ride, and the bike would not run. Would kick over in about 3 kicks with choke on, idle for a second, then die. Same with if you gave it throttle, it would die. Would also give a a backfire it seemed like when trying to kick every once and awhile. The weird thing is I could bump start the bike and ride it around somewhat, if it did not let off the throttle. When it would run like this, it almost seemed to backfire too, or pop a lot. Got home, pulled the plug, appeared to be fouled, sprayed with some break clean and gave it a good clean off, put back in the bike, and bike performed the same way. Compression is good, reeds are good, air filter is clean. There is a 50 pilot jet and I’m unsure of the main as there’s no number. I threw in a 48 pilot to see if there was a change, but doesn’t appear like it (starts up but dies shortly after) The bike has vforce, pro circuit pipe, and a pro circuit spark arrestor silencer. I’m about 1500 ft above sea level and the pervious owner said he mixes bike at 32:1 on 100 octane. Any help is much appreciated please!

I have a 2012 YZ250 with FMF Fatty and Shorty combo right now but I’m not National Forest friendly here in NC. I mainly want to hear from those that have direct experience or knowledge with the FMF Fatty and PC 296 spark arrestor and how it plugs and plays. But also any arguments against it and recommendations are also welcomed! #yz250

Hi everyone, I am new here. To all you TTR125 owners out there. What is everyone doing about heat shields on their after market exhaust pipes? I have a TTR125 with a Pro Circuit T4 pipe and would like suggestions or your personal solutions on how you adapted a heat shield to your pipes. As Pro Circuit does not make one. Thanks for your time and help. Look forward to what you with experience with this bike has to say. Pics would be a big help

For now, Texas only, would like to avoid shipping. It is like new...will post a better pic this weekend when I return from travel. $180 or best offer$180.00

Hey what's up guys! I am planning to change the exhaust system on my 2001 Yamaha YZ125. Now here's my question. Should I put a FMF Fatty Pipe with a Turbine Core 2? The total is $350. It sounds insane with the combo. But if I purchase the Pro Circuit Platinum Pipe with the R-304 Shorty, I will gain horsepower. But it will sound like trash. I trail ride and I like noise. What combo should I buy? Thanks.

I've tried searching and didn't seem to come up with any answers. I'm wondering if a Pro Circuit silencer will mate to a FMF Fatty head pipe? I'm considering the Pro Circuit Nature Friendly silencer. Like everyone I'm on a budget. Problem is I have a 93 Rm250 and I need a spark arrestor. I have a Gold series head pipe and Power Core silencer and they don't seem to make spark arrestor kit for this. I didnt come up with any results when I searched for an FMF silencer that would work on their website. What are others doing for Spark Arrestors? I had a KX 250 in the past with the opposite setup where I ran a Pro Circuit head pipe and a FMF silencer. Thanks in advance

I have a 2017 250SX and was wondering what the best exhaust is for motocross riding. Is FMF 2.1 or a Pro Circuit system more suited to track only riding? Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

Anyone have this setup or know if they will fit together? My Ti-4 header blew apart and don't wanna buy a whole new system.

Hey guys I just bought a bike last night. So the seller said the bike will turn on but then die. We didn't try it because it was really late at night and it was raining (seat was wet). But he said if you bump start it, it will turn on and ride. So what do you think the problem is? I just want to make sure it runs... I probably won't be able to bump start it till Saturday (rain)... It's a four stroke, and I know absolutely nothing about them. Thanks.
