I am trying to decide either to buy a trx450r or raptor 660. I am 15 and have been riding for 4 years, dirt bikes and 4 wheelers and just came off a raptor 250 all modded out. I ride mainly trails and backroads. Which would be all around better for trails and backroads. I want something that is reliable also. Dont want a 400 sport quad cause i feel there down on power.

Ok so I just purchased a new cylinder jug and a new top end. And now I’m having trouble with my powervalve. The first pic is the only way I can get it and the second pic is how it’s supposed to be. Will it be possible to fix without having to remove the cylinder jug? Also I just realized that my old shaft bearing is still in my old cylinder jug, any way to get out? Thanks🙏

Recently picked up at a 2003 Suzuki LT 80 for my daughter to learn how to ride on, but I find the thing so fun to ride that I actually enjoy ripping it around myself from time to time . So I was wondering what are some decent modifications that can be made to these that would make it slightly more comfortable pretty much looking to upgrade the rear and front shocks. Don’t know if they make a more beefy set up for these or if there are other larger bikes with interchangeable parts that can be out on these. Either way any help is much appreciated

I started riding snowmobiles when I was VERY small. Growing up at 5500 feet in Eastern Idaho - most people rode snowmobiles. Either because they had to or they loved it as a sport. Over time, my father transitioned slowly to three wheelers made by Honda - 110's, 185s and so forth and somewhat away from snowmobiles. I LOVED these machines, especially in the winter when I could spin an endless cookie in the street in front of my house much to the chagrin of my mother. From there, as I got older, and my parents got older - they moved to quads of all shapes and sizes over the years and I gained a love for trail riding and just being outdoors on a four wheeler. Fast forward to a few years ago, I'm now in my late 40's with 4 kids of my own and my oldest son wants to get into dirt bikes. (We have been riding quads of my own now up to this point.) So, like a good Dad, I buy him a Kawasaki KX100 and he LOVES the thing. Now when we go camping or anywhere else where we normally ride, I have to haul this green thing with us as well on my nice quad trailer! (Not happy about that initially.) Curiosity gets the best of me and I start taking the thing for short rides. It, at times, scares the **** out of me when I hit the power band, but I do pretty well overall. Then I start riding it more and more, and my son starts to notice and sees that he is now competing with me for seat time on his bike! My two younger sons notice and start begging for dirt bikes as well over time - their size dirt bikes that they can ride. Long story short - I buy my other sons smaller dirt bikes and pick myself up a Yamaha TTR125 to put around on. We are all hooked at this point! All four of us love it and cannot get enough. Over the last summer we rode anytime we could squeeze it into our schedule. And we are still riding - just went this past Saturday even though there was snow on the trails in a lot of places. At this point, the thought of riding a quad again is so unappetizing its crazy. I cannot imagine being on anything but a motorcycle now, quads seems boring, lifeless and safe. (They boys all have larger bikes now and I moved to a TTR230 for now.) So what is this "two wheel witchcraft" that exists? I have never gotten so hooked on something so quickly prior to dirt bikes. And the disdain I have for quads now is palpable - I still have two of them for my wife and daughter, but I turn my nose up at them every time have to load them or maintain them! 🙂 I'm sure there are similar experiences out there.

Hi guys, I have a question. I found a good deal on a 2014 Honda trx400x. It looks extremely nice, but it has 296 hours on it. That is a ton of hours right? Should I get it or is it too risky?

I just started working on a trx450r I believe it is a 2005. It has the older carb as well. It sat for a while so I went in a rebuilt the carb and went to check the valves. The exhaust valves were alright but the intake had no clearance and had a 120 shim in it so there is no adjustment. So then I threw it together and went to take it around the block. Runs great when cold but as it gets hot it has a bog like reaction if I go past 1/4 throttle no matter what. But it runs great when cold. I’ve been told this is valve float and is actually common on these. Just want to make sure before I go out and spend 500 to get new valves and seats. Either way though I’ll have to get a head job done :(

My 2008 raptor 250 has never started right. It nevers hit right away, and if its just a little cold it will not come close to starting. I have bought a new starter battery and selonoid and it still doesnt start right and if i keep try and keep starting it will break the selonoid, and i will have to get a new one, which has happened 3 times. It will start but, never has right so what do i need to do so it doesnt keep blowing my selonoid and so it starts right up. btw the motor and everything is perfect it just doesnt start right.

long time lurker but first post and figured theres no better place to ask than here. my wife is looking for a new sport style quad. for the last 2 years shes been riding a polaris trailblazer 250 2 stroke thats a auto cvt trans and its been great but it belongs to my sister (quad lives with me though lol). she likes the automatic polaris but dosent like the poor handling and how heavy it is (460lbs!) and the thing rides like a frickin brick! im a dirtbike guy so when it comes to recommending a quad for her im not sure. shes never used a clutch before or actually shifted gears with her foot but is willing to learn. we ride mostly at a local orv park that has some sand pits and nice trails. so what do i buy her? my buddy i ride dirt bikes with also has a quad so it would be nice if i got her a quad that i could rip as well. i have it somewhat narrowed down to honda 250ex with the rekluse style “sport clutch”, 300ex, 400ex, suzuki quadsport z250 with rekluse style “sport clutch”. she wants something to ride with us and deck out her own way. all are cheap and easy to come by were im at. thanks for any imput and suggestions!

Is the used market always this high in the summer time? I had a 2002 Honda 400ex and a 2003 Honda CRF150 that I’ve had for 3 years almost, and I just sold both of them in the last month because I just couldn’t refuse the price... I paid $1900 for the 400ex and $1300 for the CRF150 (they were both bought in the winter of 2017 and 2018). Sold the 400ex for $3200 and the CRF150 for $2300. Don’t get me wrong they were extremely clean machines for the year and I’ve always kept up on maintenance, but that still sounds like outrageously high prices for that old of a machine, but hey I’ll take it. But my question is does the market always inflate this high in the summer time or is this mostly caused from covid-19 and the stimulus money everybody was getting a few months back, and when does everybody think the market will drop back down? I’ve been keeping the money aside for a new bike but can’t get myself to spend what they are going for right now. Any input would be appreciated thanks! ( I am located in New Hampshire United States if that makes a difference)

Stuck wheel bearing and hub, please help
DevinBianc88 posted a topic in General ATV / UTV Discussion
So i know there are lots of discussions about stuck wheel bearings, but my problem might be a little worse. My hub is completely frozen onto the shaft, bearings and all. I've tried everything from pounding, heat, and a gear puller. but even better, my hub is also stuck onto my A-arm, neither of the spindles will seperate. I know everything is off that is supposed to be off, and the only thing i can remove is the A-arm from the quad. And lastly i cant just keep the old bearing in because my hub is damaged. I'm thinking the guy who owned it thought "i should JB weld them on so they don't fall off". Yes that's literally the only logical conclusion i can come to, its that stuck. if you have an idea, please help. Otherwise should i just bring it to a shop? if so what kind because i just rebuilt the top end and and dont want to spend tons of money. how much do you think this will cost? And i don't want to have to replace the A-arm because they are an expensive aftermarket pair. Also, the reason i have the theory about the previous owner; he has a record of forgetting things like washers on one head bolt, or sealing the head with silicone seal, or striping out the oil drain plug. Yea that guy is an idiot But anyways if you guys can give me some input, maybe you have had a similar problem or sum, at this point anything helps. Thank you (Its a 2008 polaris outlaw 450 with rath A-arms) not a ton of hours either-

I am currently rebuilding my yfz450. I decided to buy the hot rods 500cc stroker kit. I was wondering what jets I need to run. It has full fmf exhaust, uni filter, riding at 800ft. Above sea level. I currently have a ncqv needle on hand along with 170 through 180 main jets, and 45 through 55 slow jets. I don't want to do the trial and error thing for two weeks, what should I start with?
