  1. Hey Thumpers, We just picked up another DRZ...woot My son has moved up from a DRz125L and we picked up a nice 2002 DRZ250. Still has original back tire !! We are planning on doing a few mods and are following the "Uncork Your DRZ250" how to. PDF Here: Uncork Your DRZ250 I am a little confused about the main jet sizes listed in the “how to” It states the TM28 Stock Main Jet is #127.5 (4/042 180) So the (100.604) #127.5 is the round main jet and the (4/042) 180 is the hex main jet. The how to says I need 2,3 and 4 sizes up from stock. And says I need #137.5, #142.5, and #147.5 (4/042 180) ? This doesn't make sense ? So without taking the carb apart to look, does anyone know if this tm28 use the round jets or the hex jets? We are going to remove the restrictor weld from the header and add an FMF slip on. We will then do the airbox mod and replace the airfilter with a UNI filter. As per the "how to" we will change the pilot from a #37.5 to a #40 And shim the jet needle with three .025 washers. Can anyone chime in with more specifics on which main jet will work best for our future setup? Thanks in advance thumpers.
  2. I have a 2007 KLX250s that is completely stock. I couldn't find anything helpful online about a 2007 rejet, only 2009+ so I was hoping to get some input here. Dynojet doesn't make a kit for the 07 and I've read about a KLX300 kit but honestly I couldn't find a concrete answer. The only mod I plan on doing anytime soon is either replace the stock snorkel in the airbox with a KDX220 snorkel or completely remove it and the airbox lid, depending on what would make the most sense on an otherwise stock bike? Probably the latter. I live at 75ft above sea level if that helps with altitude jetting. I'd appreciate any and all info on what jets to get for that setup. cheers!
  3. I just got a 2014 crf 250L and its sadly way worse then my wr 250 was. I have a new mega bomb header, a fmf pipe a RJK tune controller to start. What else can I do!?
  4. I just bought a 05 crf230f about 2 months ago. Bike was running great, I rejetted with the power up kit, new air filter, spark plugs and new tires. Yesterday I installed a pro circuit t6 complete exhaust from rocky mountain ATV. Exhaust sounds great but now the bike runs horribly after about 5 mins of riding. It just bogs down and will not even pop a wheelie. I have adjusted the fuel Screw from 2 to 2 1/2 to 3 turns and still same issue. I cleaned the jets yesterday but I'm wondering if I need to change the jets out again? Do I go bigger? 45 pilot and 132 main is what I'm running now. It ran perfect until the exhaust change.
  5. Hey all, I've done a bit of searching but can't quite figure out exactly what I need. Background: About 3-4 weeks ago I re-jetted my 2007 DRZ400s using a JD jet kit. I live near boulder, CO, so I'm between 5,500 and 8,500 ft regularly, and I live around 6,000 ft elevation. I wanted to make sure I had as much information as possible before starting this thread, so I've confirmed that following the JD jet kid instructions for 4-8000ft I installed the 25 pilot jet, 150 main jet, and the red needle at 3rd position from the top. I've also cut the 3x3 hole in the airbox, and installed the keintech extended fuel mixture screw. It feels like a great bike, but it won't return to idle pretty much at all when the bike is fully warmed up. I can sometimes lug the engine a bit in first to get it to settle back to idle but a lot of times it doesn't want to stay there. I've read a bunch that it can be caused by either running rich or lean, so I took the side cover off the airbox to check for a rich condition, but no effect was had. I then started playing with the fuel mixture screw. I got the engine to miss once, but after messing around with the screw more, I couldn't get the engine to miss at all, even with the screw all the way in. I decided to keep playing with it, though, and went a half a turn out from as tight as it gets at a time. Between 6-6.5 turns out, I would get the bike to return to idle normally, but after reading up on the 3x3 mod it looks like that should be more in the neighborhood of 2-3 turns out. At 6.5 turns out the screw was rattling around. After searching around some more I've found a couple potential solutions to look into, but I'm not really sure where to start. 1.) Bigger pilot jet - Not sure this is the issue, but if you all think so I can order one I guess? Might need some help finding one. 2.) Clogged pilot or main jet - Going to check on this this weekend. 3.) air leak in vacuum line between carb and engine - also going to check this this weekend. The carb is in there tight and ran just fine before the rejet. 4.) Could the needle position cause this? I'm quite sure I did the 3rd position from the top, but maybe I did the 3rd from the bottom. Going to have to check that for sure. Anyway, unfortunately I probably won't be able to work on it until this weekend, so any advice in the meantime would be extremely appreciated! Thanks!
