  1. I have a CR250 and a CRF450R - I am 6'5" amateur I find it impossible to position feet on pegs in a way that I can easily extend foot to hit rear brake My longer legs result in sharp angle with foot, so I end up standing in a way that the foot does not cover rear brake (toes on peg, nothing over brake) When I try to practice rear brake tap (on wheelies, or in mid-air jumping to lower the front) - I notice my foot has to lift up, reposition, then tap = much slower I am wondering if there are adjustments to my rear brake to make it sit lower - another possibility seems I could bend the rear brake to physically sit lower Not sure if this is a common issue amongst tall riders, did not find much info on brief search - thanks in advance for any help
  2. Hey, So the bolt that hold the rear brake pedal is stripped (well the threads in the frame). This is on a 2001 cr250. Because this is a special bolt with a collar for the brake pedal to sit on re-threading to the next size up bolt isn't really an option. Is there enough material there to drill out and us a helicoil? Would this be the best method? Anyone know the size/thread of the bolt off hand? side note: The bolt I had previous (fell out while riding and was a nice surprise when I went to hit the brake and couldn't find the pedal) and the new OEM one I got from Honda don't have any provision for a cotter pin even though the parts list show a cotter pin. did I just randomly have 2 bolts that are wrong or is this a 2000/2001 "special feature"
  3. I have a ktm 300. Before my last ride i bled my rear brake line (Successfully) but after one ride it needs it again. After each ride it looks as if there has been fluid leaking from the top of the reservoir. I make sure that the reservoir had fluid almost to the top of the sight glass before my last ride. I don't think it is due to overheating but I could be wrong. It has always had a very small leak out of the bottom of the piston which i replaced to try and fix this issue (but didn't) and im not sure if this might be contributing to my problems. I know many people have problems with these brakes, has anyone had experienced something similar to this? Please help
  4. so i just bought a 120cc pitter and practiced wheelies for about a week. Im already good at wheelies on my bicycle and can hold a balance point wheelie using rear brake for a solid 30 seconds. but on my pitter i can get up to balance point but my body just wont let me tap my rear brake when i need it. the only reason i dont loop out every time is because i drop the throttle and let engine brake take over. im not always so lucky tho
  5. I have a 2011 xcf 250 and haven't had any troubles. We took a little break from riding then as we got back on the bikes I went to use my rear brake and the pedal was stiff. I slammed it down and it un-stiffened So I thought it was fine. Next corner I barely touch the pedal and it locked the rear tire and got stuck down. I had to kick the lever back up and then it worked fine the rest of the day. Why would this of happened?
  6. I just got a new dirt bike, but I'd like to adjust the rear brake pedal. The rear brake feels more instant than I'm used to. I know how to raise and lower the pedal, but is there a way that I can add free play? I want to have more space between "not braking" and "locked up rear brakes". I can still ride the bike as it is now, I'm just used to more play in the break pedal. Thanks for your help.
  7. Hey everyone so I’ll keep it short and sweet. just need to know if I can put a rear caliper assembly from a 2004 kxf on my ‘03 kx. I feel like it should fit but better safe than sorry. thanks!!
  8. Hey everyone. I recently underwent a lot of work on my bike and had to take my rear wheel off. I put it back on and my rear brakes felt mushy, weren't as sharp as they were. Tried using them and didn't get sharper. I saw this big black squishy thing that was on the side of the caliper. I could squish it, I did this around 4 times and when I tapped my brakes, they were sharp again!? I am so confused, I mean no complaints here but how does this work? I am looking at a diagram and can't even see it or why it would affect it. Anybody know what it is?
  9. Hey everyone, i recently purchased a 2002 CR125, when I bought it the rear brakes did not work, but the pads were worn right down so i thought the pads had to be fixed. I went on to fix the pads and during this I discovered the Callipers were seized. I eventually got everything back together and the callipers slide fine now, everything was still to spec. I went on to bleed the brakes and when I finished and pumped the brakes they still do not work. It felt like the rear master cylinder was not holding pressure so I went on to rebuild the seals, I did thaf and there was still no fix. The rear brake seems to be really soft and have little to not braking power. Sometimes after I bleed the brakes it will grab for the first push but the soften up right away. Any suggestions on what’s the problem?
