    Please Help Me Find This

Im looking for a front brake caliper rebuild kit for my '85 RM125. I can't find anything besides an incomplete kit on eBay which lacks some of the parts I need. Does anyone know of a kit that will fit my bike or a company that still makes a kit for it? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
  3. Bike is a 1999 Suzuki RM125. I had the crankshaft rebuilt, so during the install I had put in new crank bearings, new crank seals, new case gasket, new reeds, and a new top end. I also cleaned the carb and put in the recommended jets for my exhaust and elevation/temperature. I run 32:1 fuel mix. I also put in a new primary gear, which is what contacts the oil seal. I put axle grease into the seal before inserting the primary gear. The bike smokes more than it should, and I'm pretty sure the cause is that transmission oil is leaking into the crankshaft area and eventually getting into the cylinder. I would top off the oil and check the level with the little bolt on the side of the clutch cover. After a while of riding I would take the bolt out and I would have to tip the bike quite a bit for anything to come out. I don't understand why it could leak. I also topped off the coolant, and the level stayed the same, so that's not leaking. Do you think its still getting in through the seal? If not, where could it get in from? There was quite a discussion as to the orientation of the seal itself here, but since that post I have installed a new seal with spring side out (which is different than most bikes, but I think that's what the manual says).
  4. My rm125 leaks gas when sitting there on the stand with gas off. I've tried cleaning carb to make sure no dirt or anything! Please help! Also my kickstarter is tight when pulling out?

    2002 rm125

Hey guys. My yz 99 deal turned out to be a 96 deal. So decided to look elsewhere and came across a very neat rm125 2002 model. Has fresh top and bottom rebuild. New clutch cable and throttle cable. I love the look of it minus the pipe whats your thoughts? And any ideas on updating the look?
  6. Need some help identifying the year of this rm.... no vin number to go off of, I'm thinking around 1990 but I don't know. My brother says it has 2 holes in the neck of the frame whereas my 1998 only has 1. Justus trying to figure out the year before we try our hand at restoring it. Any help will be greatly appreciated
  7. I have a 1999 Suzuki RM125. I think I need new crank seals because I am getting a lot of thick smoke, low power, and black goo is coming out of the tailpipe. The carb is adjusted, and there is a new top end. When I look at both rings, its really hard to see if there are any leaks, and I'm not sure its something that's easy to spot. I have the service manual but its for newer years, so I'm not sure if the 1999 would be the same. If the 1999 (mine) is the same as this manual, then I think that the oil seal was installed backward on the RH side because I don't see the spring. What do you guys think? I think that flipping the seal around might solve the issue, but getting it out would be tough without damaging it. Also, do you have any tips on installing a seal with the crankshaft in already? Help!!!
  8. Hey guys I have a 1987 rm125 and I'm looking to get some handguards. I want some handguards that look somewhat good on my bike and cuz it's vintage I'm not sure what would look nice. I would love to hear what handguards you guys would suggest running. I know it's not looks that matter most but I'd really like the handguards to look good on the bike.

    Swaptronics 04-10 kx250f/ rmz250f

Hi, I’m having spark issues on my kx250f. If anyone is willing to do swaptronics with me, please let me know. Not sure what the problem is, so I figured someone could help me out by doing this. Thanks
  11. So basically. I got this yuuuuggeee RM250 in a trade. It is a really nice bike. I really didn't know much about it when I got it, except that it was very pretty and extremely fast. Anyways, I look it up and find that its the only year of air cooled engine w/ mono shock suspension. Anyways I have been storing the bike ever since on inside of my house and I think its time to make some space. The bike deserves to be ridden more... Honestly, I am a little afraid of how fast it is! And in case you can't tell where this is going... I decided to sell the bike and thought maybe you would be interested. I know its not from the best era or the coolest bike you've ever seen... But it is clean, fast, and pretty dang rare. If you appreciated that I didn't just throw this at you and say BUY MY BIKE and instead wrote a semi-thoughtful write up about it and then hooked in the advertisement at the end. You should check out the bike on Ebay. Ill put the link below. It deserves a good home. Someone like you. Someone like your son who's birthday is coming up. If someone wants it come and get it. No reserve, I sell to highest bidder no questions asked. I will help with shipping, provide more info, etc at jonahdeich@gmail.com. The bike is located in Savannah, Georgia http://www.ebay.com/itm/222475245091?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

    yz 250 street legal,conversion

Hi guys i have some questions and would appreciate any help you guys may have. I have a 1998 yz 250 ive had for a few years thats been in the famliy for awile. I am doing a ground up redo on it this winter. Im geting a used frame because the one i have dosent have a title so i figured wile im at it ill get a 1998/1997 wr 250 frame so i can make it street legal. I know the 98 wr 250 wasent introduced in the us but the 97 was and the yz 250 is the same bike from 96 to 98. So my question is are the wr 250s the same ? Could i find a 97 wr250 frame and swap everything from my 98 yz 250 to it ? I wont realy ride it on the street much considering its not the best bike for commuting (by far) lol, but i figure if im geting another frame with a title miswell be able to throw my street tires on it and rip some twistes with it if i want to. Thanks for any help.
  13. hey guys. i have an 03 rm 125 with jetting issues. i've jetted it multiple times. currently has all stock jetting (460 main,40 pilot, 3 down on clip) and i'm running amsoil dominator full synthetic premix. was running castor 927 but fouled a $30 plug which i'm not very happy about. anyways.. does my plug look alright? should i run a $30 plug in it? i'm not trying to get it too lean, and i'm not trying to foul plugs. 440 (next size down) is too lean. not sure what to do. this is how my plugs are looking right now. there not too wet, just pretty dark

    What oilfor vntage premix

Hi everyone, ive got an eighties PE 175 I’ve recently restored, which I’m running silkolene comp 2 premix which is ok, but I don’t think it’s really any good, although everyone raves how good it is for older dirtbikes. I was thinking of bel ray or Castro’s as I ran these on other bikes when I was younger ( more for the smell) I’m rebuilding the engine later in the year, and if it’s anything like the bodges I seen on the rest of the bike it will all need doing so I wanna run it something that wont kill everything. Thanks in advance

    1999 rm125 clutch question

I just bought a 1999 rm125. The clutch is worn and when I start it and shift from neutral to first, with the clutch pulled in, it jumps and stalls. Know that I need to replace the clutch, but what exactly do I replace? Do I buy just the clutch kit with separator, friction plates, and springs? Or do I buy the clutch kit and the basket or just the basket?
  16. So i bought a 1992 rm125 about 1 week ago and it ran fine! i got it home and rode it for about 3 days, then after i let it cool down for about 20 minuets it would not start! I checked for spark, and for some reason, there was no spark. I bought a new ngk plug, and still nothing! I went through all the usual stuff, and still nothing! I bought a new stater, put it on, and now it will bump start, but not start using the kick starter. ( the kick starter is 100% good ) I think it may be the ignition coil, but i am not 100% sure. Any ideas?
  17. I currently own a 2002 Kawasaki KDX 220R and I'm looking for a new bike. I've been looking at 04 - 08 Yamaha YZ 250s because I think they'd be better for me. Just tell me what bikes you'd recommend. I'm 14 years old, 6'0, 200 lbs, and have been riding for 9 years. And before you say my bike is perfectly fine, I will say this. I ride trails and the street and backyard tracks with my friends. My KDX lacks the power to do much on a track and it doesn't have the power I want for riding on the street either. Just wanted to get that out of the way. All recommendations are appreciated. I can buy anything below $3000.
  18. Went to change the oil on my 01 rm 250 and coolant poured out like i was draining the radiator. Where do I start to fix this.
  19. Hello TT, I am in the middle of a 2002 RM250 build and for the life of me cannot figure out proper installation of foot pegs/springs. No matter how I try, it just doesn't seem right. Have looked all over, zoomed in on pics online and still just can't figure it out. The manual doesn't even really show it... Can someone with an 01/02 snap a close up pic of their pegs mounted and post?? This is slowly killing me.

    A piston for a 1980 KDX 400

Does anyone know another bike that has the same bore x stroke as a Kdx400? The KDX is 80 x 78. Im looking for a piston that will fit in it fairly easily..
  22. So I have an 03 rm 125 and I’m having a problem with my jetting. My original 460 main jet that came out of the carb is huge and unlike any jet I’ve seen before. I also ordered a mikuni genuine main jet off of eBay and went to go put it in the carb (440 main) and it’s way too small. Not sure what to do.

    Broken rear brake

2002 rm250 just purchased. Was told the rear brake would need to be fixed since the bracket or mount that keeps it stationary is broken. In the picture where my pointer finger is there appears to be a piece of it broken off. I was told it was a piece that is actually welded to the swingarm where my other two fingers are located in the picture with the wheel off. And it does appear that there is a welded section broken off there. I do not have the broken piece and when I look at oem diagrams they do not show anything welded to that side of the swing arm. And the diagram that shows the brake bracket/mount only shows that my broken bracket is missing a small little section. Someone please help me because I can’t figure out what is missing or how to fix it. I was told I can buy an adapter piece that will bolt onto the swing arm but can’t find that online either. Thanks

    Eric Gorr Rm265 review

After reading several reviews on Eric Gorr’s work i decided to send my 1999 Rm 250 cylinder to him for 265 kit with porting for the wider smoother power band. He was easy to get a hold of and answered carb jetting and exhaust questions i had. I live in Ohio and it winter so wasn’t too concerned with turn around but it only took 10 days from when i shipped to get it back. Haven’t got to ride it much because of cold temps but it got up to mid 50s so i figured give her a quick ride up and down the lane a few times. She rips smooth power that’s very controllable and pulls non stop all way thru. Im excited to get this baby out in the spring and hit the trails. It needs more ride time for a better review but first impression is he did excellent work on my motor. Grew up riding kenworthys in troy and had a pro circuit rm 250 that i raced and for the 3k i had in that motor and the 600 that’s in this one believe it or not it’s very comparable. No crankcase mods on this motor and that’s prob the difference. I read some bad things about Eric’s work but i have nothing bad to say at this point.
