  1. I have a 2019 crf450l and live in Pennsylvania. The trails are very rocky and require good throttle control. The bike is very jerky (on and off) and hard to control in first and second gear in rocky sections. I got a heavier fly wheel and the cam throttle. It helped a little, but bike is a handful in rough sections. Pennsylvania has a lot of rough sections. Need help/suggestions
  2. This has been an ongoing issue, as I am sure some of you are beginning to notice.. sorry for the somewhat repetitive posts in advance. My valves were out of spec, I was only getting 85-90 PSI of compression. I shimmed my valves to the correct clearance, and I got the compression up to 150 psi. Now after riding my bike for 15-20 minutes, it will start doing the same thing it did before - it will idle super low and eventually bog out. I had the idle adjustment turned up very high, when I gave it a little throttle the idle would kick up for a couple seconds, then it would settle back down to extremely low and bog out. To me this sounds like something with the idle air circ, or jetting. Could something with the valves cause this as well? Want to get a second opinion before I send the head in for the $500 rebuild and still have the same issue. Thank you all again!

  4. I’m restoring a 1996 Honda Cr250 and does anyone know for sure if stock seat cover had Honda on it or cr? Both styles are available from throttle jockey. Thanks
  5. Hey guys! first time poster here, and having some problems with my new to me 2006 DRZ400s. Upshifting works great, but when downshifting the shift lever does not always want to return to the neutral position, making it difficult to smoothly come to a stop. What I usually have to do is come to a stop in whatever gear I got stuck in and bump the shift lever until I can get it to go down to first. This doesn't always happen in higher gears but it happens almost every time trying to go from 2nd to 1st gear. An odd technique I found that helps is blipping the throttle up as I downshift, it seems the higher the revs, the more likely the lever is to reset. I have the most difficulty when coming to a stop with the throttle all the way rolled off. Another method that helps get from 2nd to 1st is letting out the clutch slightly, which will sometimes reset the lever. What could be the cause of this?? Any help to this motorcycle noob is greatly appreciated!
  6. So I got it all apart and got stuck here: Are these bearings supposed to come out easily? They sure aren't. I had to tap the impeller shaft our with a mallet, but these guys wont budge. Is there a secret? Should I scrap it just buy the whole part? lol Any feedback appreciated
  7. Alright TT Gentlemen.. I appreciate any and all who have commented on my posts, without TT and the knowledgeable people in it, things would have taken me much longer. Anyway, I was shimming my valves the other day,before I did it when I checked the clearance.. There was none. I couldnt fit my smallest feeler gauge between any of the valves and the bucket. both on intake and both on exhaust would not fit. I checked my compression before I did this, and it was only at 60/70 PSI which I know is far too low. Before I tear into the engine, I want to get everything I need.. so if A new piston is in store then so be it.. But would valves that have far too little clearance at TDC cause low compression when cranked? Thanks again guys! - Brad
  8. So I have a 2015 drz400s. I have finally had the money to start doing thing I want to the bike. (Exhaust,jetting,hand guards and some other wonderful stuff.) I have noticed that I really ride street about 95% of the time. Obviously having 17'' rims will make for alot better time on the street than the stock s rims. Im quite new to bikes so what is a must when switching from stock s rims to sm rims? The only obvious parts to me are rims and tires. Any opinions?

Ok guys I need a lil help here Got a 38mm pwk on my cr125 ...182 main 48 pilot ne3g needle 2clip from the bottom Pro circuit pipe,304 shorty silencer vforce3 reeds, br9eix plug If I choke the bike down in a pull and just roll on the throttle ezily to wot it will bog out and stall any other position besides wot it will do ok... Been playing with the jeting for a few weeks now all kinda dif combos Elevation @950 feet here in hickory NC

Got this bike for a steal and it runs pretty darn strong for what it is ...But can't find any info about it really..Anyone heard of this brand (LEM)or can point me in the right direction for parts/suppliers...?? It does have a slight miss and sputtor from time to time...I only weigh 140lbs so it screams with me on it lol 6speed
  11. Just purchased this used bottom end on eBay. Claimed it was an ‘03. Far as I know 03 would start with 650000, not 640000. I believe this is an ‘02 motor? Any solid experience with this is appreciated. I’m just going off the oem-cycle chart. Is there a Honda site to confirm this? Not too worried about it as I am placing motor back into an ‘02 and I got a decent deal. Just wanted to go up to 03 for the rebuild. Thoughts? Here’s a pic of purchased engine tag. And some carnage of what the old motor looks like just for fun. Sent a 2” chunk of cases flying. Rebuild your top ends kids.
  12. I recently purchased a 2003 DR-Z400s. This whole set-up is new to me, the last dirt bikes that I have are 1970's DT endure 2-Strokes. I have no contact info for the previous owner so there is a lot to be determined about the upgrades that have been to the bike. I'm guessing that the suspension springs have been changed but am wondering how can I tell? The sag check showed very close to perfect: Free = 19 1/8" Static = 18 7/8" (could be a little more?) Sag = 15" standing ; 14 1/2" sitting This sag setting looks to be very close to specs to me. This is somewhat surprising since I weigh about 240lbs. The bike is new so I haven't had the opportunity to test the suspension thoroughly but it does seem to ride extremely well on highway, rougher roads, and in fields and around the acreage. So, how can I tell if the spring(s) have been changed from stock?
