    Wheel bearings and seals

Does anyone here know of any places that sell seals and or bearings by size or part number? I have a wheel with an aftermarket hub that requires seals and bearings with larger ODs than the OEM Yamaha hubs. In case it matters, the seal size is 25x42x7 (#30-4207) and the bearing size is 25x42x9. FortNine is cheaper to Canada than the wheel vendor in Pennsylvania but I was wondering if anyone knows of cheaper mail-order places in Canada or stores in Ontario. The seals can be generic/non-moto as long as they are the correct size and are "TC" style (double lip, single spring ring).

    Unknown 426 Parts

Hi everyone, I was putting my 02 Yzf426 bottom end back together when I noticed this little washer type thing. I am wondering if it even goes to my bike or if it was just on my desk. If it is a piece of my bike, does anyone know where it goes? In addition I found these 2 black water pump seal looking things and I was wondering about those as well. Thanks everyone.
  4. My bike (1999 RM125) has been suffering from a variety of symptoms: Low power Excessive smoke Spooge coming out of tailpipe Reving quite high on its own to where I have to hit the kill switch. No noticable powerband. Here's the work I put into the bike trying to fix this: Rebuilt/balanced crankshaft and connecting rod New top end (piston, ring, wrist pin, bearing) New main crank bearings New crank seals, left and right. From the symptoms I thought a new set of seals would do the trick, but it doesn't look like it has. Here is what I think it might be now: Leaking/flooded carb or bad float level, which mine is because its leaking. Bad reeds Power valve Air leak, but where? Out of the last list, do any of these make sense? I am so confused! I also don't know how much to twist the power valve adjustment knob. It looks like this. Can anyone help? I don't know what blown reeds sound/do. I also have a 168 main jet and ProCircuit, suggests that for my pipe I use a 165. Could this little difference be the cause?
  5. I posted this last Oct... My son races an 02 cr250, mostly stock, fmf pipe, recently added a shorty silencer. 15 hours on rebuild...has always been a little slow to come back to idle but seems to have gotten worse. When riding hard it takes 3 - 5 seconds to come down to idle. I don't know what it could be! Jetting, reeds, air leaks...?? The response I got was to change the left side crank seal. It made a little bit of difference but didn't completely solve the problem. Over the winter it seemed to be less of an issue and into the spring racing. We did a fresh top end this summer and had the normal slow to come back to idle I expect for the cr250. It was running great and very strong. We have 8 hours now on the top end and the problem is back in a huge way. Almost un-rideable two weeks ago at Muddy Creek MX. When he clutches in the corners I can hear it at a high rev. My thoughts and questions... 1. If it's the left seal leaking air it would cause a lean mixture right? I pull the plug and it's dark. Wouldn't the leaking lean situation cause a lighter plug? I see a lot of threads pointing to air leaks and leak down tests, but no one tells what the plug looks like. 2. If it's the right side seal wouldn't it leak oil into the case and smoke? This would not cause a sustained rev would it? 3. Reading the plug dark, I moved the needle down thinking I have a rich mixture and it could be loading up on fuel. No change! Should I go farther or smaller main jet? The plug is dark but not dark enough that I think it's a mixture problem...and it runs smooth and no missing. 4. Someone said warm it up and spray starter fluid around the engine to see if I can find an air leak. But again wouldn't it cause a lean plug? 5. Throttle cable is new and very crisp...always has been through the good and bad times. Frustrated and ready to tare it down if needed but I don't know what to look for or what to replace. I'm looking for some been there done that wisdom. I've noticed a lot of threads state the problem, list suggestions, but never state what the solution was. My name is racer dad, and that's what I am. I'm not a pro engine builder but we do race 3 bikes and I have done about 6 or 7 engines now and this is the only problem I've not been able to solve. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Tech forks Service DIY

  7. I'm helping my son replace the seals on his 2004 CRF250x Showa forks. As per the service manual, We pull the cartridge and drain the tube. We extend the rod, fill with oil, proceed to pump, pump, pump the rod to bleed the air, then fill the oil to the proper level and reinsert the cartridge. At this point all seems right, as the rod extends on its own when compressed. Now, following the service manual, we pump the piston rod to full stroke and drain the extra oil from the oil hole. However, it seems like much more than 17cm3 of oil comes out. And once drained, the rod will not extend on its own more than and inch. Something certainly isn't right. What am I missing here?
  8. BTW, I'm new to two strokes, haven't had one since I was a kid and dad did all the work. Ok, so I've searched and not found what I'm looking for so figured I'd ask here. Recently picked up a 2000 yz250 that supposedly has a 295 or 300 big bore kit. It ran strong so I didn't fret too much over the little things. Paid $1500 and took it home. Drained the gear oil and it looked a bit odd to me. I refilled with Rotella, ran it for about 15 or so minutes out back. Drained and it looked the same. 😏 Could this be water getting into the oil? Read somewhere that it should look like this but seems odd. Any help would be appreciated!

    fork seals on yz125

I just got back from a weekend of riding and noticed my fork seal leak got really bad and is dripping oil. I am going to replace it but for now is it bad to ride on bad fork seals? For when i replace them how much can i expect to spend on supplies if I do it myself, and how much will a shop charge me
  10. Hello. My CRF450R 2011 have leaking (oil with coolant) from water pump drainage hole: I install new mechanical seal (7), oil seal (16) and new bearing (15): Filled new coolant and run my bike, all was fine, but after 15 minutes I got heavy coolant leaking: Disassembled again and noticed that "head" of mechanical seal is disconnected: What's can be wrong? Looks like problem with slight tightening (torque) (12 N/m) of impeller (part #6)? Sorry for my bad English.
