  1. I am looking for a more comfortable seat for my BRP. I spend one 5 hours a week on it and the stock foam is not cutting it, and I am looking at doing some long adventure rides. most important of all it has to look good! Can anyone recommend a better seat?
  2. I took the "What could go wrong" approach to lowering my seat height and I'm somewhat pleased with the results. Only an inch of foam was carved off but smoothing the squared edges off the top of the seat really allowed more comfort and boot (aka flat footed) contact with the ground. I stole the idea of using a jar lid with nail holes for sanding the foam smooth. Removal and replacement of the cover was made easy with a HF pneumatic gun that uses crown staples.
  3. My 2016 KTM SX 125's seat is too narrow, so the plastic pretrudes out just where my knee is. This means it's not only painful to grip the bike, but i don't get any extra grip out of it, and end up supporting myself mith my arms, which is not exactly ideal when riding. This would not be a problem if my leg was shorter as i would then be able to grip the plastic, but as my knee is right on the edge i get no grip. My local dealer doesn't sell any aftermarket seats so i haven't been able to see if any of them are wider. They say they don't want to pack some extra foam inside as they say it wont last, but anything is better than this. I'm planning to drop by my dealer tomorrow to check out the other bikes, and whether they have the same problem or not. I took some measurements of my seat and bike so you can hopefully compare them to your bike. The seat is approximately 16,5 cm at its widest, and the bike is 18,5 at its widest. If any of you by chance have a wider seat than this please tell me, looking at bike images on google to see if the seat is narrower than the bike is not easy. And if you have any ideas as to what i can do please tell me. Thanks in advance
  4. After 5K miles on my 2012 KLX250S stock brick seat, I researched and decided to replace it with a Seat Concepts Low foam and cover kit. I ordered directly with Seat Concepts after discussing it with one of their sales reps. and went with the "low". The low seat foam is a little stiffer than standard and he recommended going with a -0.5 softer foam when I ordered, as I have some back a neck issues and always stand up in rough terrain, and I am a more mellow 52 YO rider. The seat did not seem super plush when I received it, but the finished product is just stiff enough, but way more comfortable. I am 5'5" and have lowering links on my bike and can stand on both balls of my feet, the "low" gave me another inch and I can almost stand flat footed, but no noticeable ergonomic effect when riding, and the lower center of gravity actually helped. With the old seat my butt was painful in a 20 minute ride through town, a 2 hour ride the lack of comfort was distracting and made rides less enjoyable. I thought maybe the stock seat would break in, but 5K later it is still hard. After 2 hours on the Seat Concepts, it was far less discomfort than the 20 minutes across town. My non-stop test ride was 3 hours, I tried standing as much as I did on the old seat but realized a lot of that time was because my butt hurt, so I actually had a lot more time on the seat. I thought that the wide portion of the seat would be awkward when standing up, but I didn't even notice a difference, the first 20 times or so I sat back down, it felt weird to sit back down on the fat part of the seat, just not normal, but by the end of my ride it was not even noticed. The seat actually soaked up some impact from washboards and smaller bumps the stock seat did not. I got the gripper top and carbon fiber sides, the grip top is pebbled texture and really grips, I wore jeans and occasionally it pinched the fabric when scooting against my leg, no rash after 3 hours, but I am hoping the grip wears off a bit, I found just raising up a bit when adjusting riding position solved that. The seat does not look as wide on the back as I thought it would, I was on the fence that it would look like some old mans bike, but it looks sharp, the pictures make it look wider than in person. After three hours the discomfort was about the same and the old seat at 20 minutes or less, although with it just getting warm here I have not been riding much, and towards the end of the riding season, I am always able to go farther. I installed the foam and cover myself, it was easy with a HF air stapler (hand stapler can't pierce the pan very well), if you prefer to not do that you can have them do it for you by sending your pan in and paying them $25, but easy for a do it yourselfer. They sell complete seats with the pan, but reviews on the pan fitting good are mixed. No way am I ever planning to go back to the stock brick. It was not hot the day I installed it and very little sun, but I had no problem stretching the cover, in fact had to be careful not to over stretch it because the foam is softer. Just line up the seams and tack in place. Their website has good video instruction on stapling order and centering as well as finishing the job. Overall I am wondering why I never did this sooner, I paid $170 for the seat and $25 shipping. Best $200 I have spent on my ride. Now I want to ride more. Seat Concepts product was about 2/3 the price of the other options, and I am totally satisfied with the product. My communication and order status with Seat Concepts was very good. Be aware they are custom making each seat foam, and there is a 2 week lead time. I did receive my seat in 2 weeks and did not contact them for updates, and was notified when it shipped, received it 2 days later. I would highly recommend Seat Concepts even if the stock seat does not bother you, why Kawasaki puts such a hard seat on this bike baffles me, makes riding more fun. Below are the install pictures.
  5. Seat must have landed on a rock when I put the bike down the other day. Does anyone have any ideas on fixing that mounting hole?
  6. Hey I am about to purchase a 2003 Honda CRF230 and want to replace the seat. Was trying to find out if the seat cover from other year models would fit the '03. Is it possible also to put a headlight on to this bike? I am seeing different kits you can purchase, but just want to make sure it will have a stock headlight connector? Any advice appreciated!
  7. I’m wondering if a seat from a 00-01 cr250 would fit an 02-07?
  8. Hey guys, I just bought a new 2018 300 XC-W coming from a 03 Honda CR250r and I absolutely love the bike. It is night and day different than my old woods weapon but holy shit is the seat hard. I have put a EE skid plate and pipe guard on this bike but I'm looking for recommendations for a different seat. What is everyone else running or have done to your seats to get them do it doesn't feel like you are being raped by your bike? Thank you
  9. Last year I bought a yz 125 that was supposed to be an 04 but when I got home I checked the serial number and it was an 01 it has the 6 speed motor in it but a silver 03 subframe in it. The seat on it is i belive a 01 and it dosnt fit right. I have it bolted to the fender because the mounts on the seat are too far back to be mounted on the subframe. My friend has an 06 yz 125 and I put his seat on and it still sticks back too far to be bolted in to the subframe. Would an 03 seat fit or do I have to get a 01 subframe?
  10. I need a new seat for my bike, the current one is ugly imo, and I looked around a lot for a seat, but I can't quite find one that fits... Anywhere I can look. I tried a LOT of motorcycle sites to find one but all of them only show seat accessories...
  11. Has anyone covers a seat concepts foam kit with a different Mx style seat cover like a “ thrill seekers” seat cover ?

  13. Hey everyone! I recently bought a 2006 CRF150F and I know that bike is completely different from the 150R but when I bought the bike, it did not come with any type of seat(bottom plastics, foam, or cover) as well as any plastics. I could find a set of plastics but I can’t seem to find a seat setup to put on the bike. Anything helps especially if it means I have to rig something up myself. Please let me know if you guys have any answers, thank you!
  14. Hello everybody! So I bought the seat from wheelingcyclesuplly because I’m 6 foot 3 or (190cm) tall and the standard seat is just too low for me. The position is too cramped and I can not reach the rear brake when sitting down. I wanted high seat that was not as expensive as other manufacturers ( think seatconcepts or Corbin) but still good enough to be a plus. Repacking my stock seat was not a valid option for numerous reasons I shall not bother anyone with. I received the seat and I liked the first look of it. The fabric seemed good quality and overall everything looked wel put together. No fake China crap here. So when bolting the seat on I immediately noticed how the bolts did not line up quite as well as the stock seat. The seat pan is clearly of lesser quality. I also had to remove a pad that was pushing down on my EJK. When finally bolted on, I noticed a very big difference in overall height. My body position on the bike was a lot more comfortable, my legs where in a acceptable position: I knew I made a very good choice. I’ve been riding on and offroad for 5 months now with the seat. Without a doubt the spiral seat is more comfortable than the stock seat without being to soft or muchy. However, it is starting to sag a little. Nothing much, but I do notice it. My not so frequent passengers have not complained about anything. Plus: · Cheap · Comfortable · High · Overall good quality Minus: · Not an excellent fit · Sags a little · Higher would be even better My final verdict: well worth the money and I could not have made a better purchase. I am very happy but would like the seat to be even higher, although others will disagree. Minimal sag is noted but not worth complaining about.
  15. Hi, I have a 2002 Honda XR250R and I love the bike but the gas tank but, let's be honest, it is quite bland. The seat also dips quite low in comparison to the top of the gas tanks so cornering is more difficult compared to other bikes. I was wondering if there is any street bikes (such as the newer xr250 or the cr230) who's gas tank and seat is interchangeable with my older XR. I have looked at aloop kits and such but they are just too expensive. Not the older XR has a single beam to the handle bars while the newer Hondas have a "double wishbown" frame style. Thanks so much
  16. Looking for a company that sells a seat cover for a 1984 honda xr500r that has the old style square back seat but isnt oem and has some sort of grip on it. I believe it would be the same for xr200, xr350, xr600 and so on. Or maybe I can by a large universal blank seat cover and make it fit. Anyone have experience with this? This is what I currently have but its too slick. Need something with grip.
  17. I have a Series Honda which is a 250 4 stroke Honda in a CR 85 frame. I am looking for a wider softer seat. Seat Concepts wont do it. Guts doesn't do custom. Fisher will but I hate shipping my seat off to Idaho. From the back the seat shape is like a trapezoid. I thought maybe the foam could be brought straight up the sides like a rectangle. That would give me more cross section. I have shaved seat but I can feel the frame riding sitting down which almost all my riding is now, due to age. Suggestions?
  18. I'm updating my 01 yz125, can i use the same seat? I also need brackets to fit the subframe, does somebody have the size? Thanks for any help!!
  19. I searched online found nothing. Tao charges $30 for tech support. The battery is dead and need to get seat off to replace it. Can anyone help?

  21. Hey there. Was wondering if a subframe or gas tank from an 02 - 20 yz125 would fit or mount up (With or without brackets) on an 03 - 05 Yz250f? Not expecting a yes but just wanted to put the question out there. And yes, I do know that the front fender and plate can go on with some new holes.
  22. Well, before my big trip this summer I knew I had to replace the stock seat. I ran out of time before the trip to do the the DIY version (and I really wanted to have the stock seat as a backup on my parts shelf) so I just bought the complete seat. It was a little painful to lay out that kind of money for a dirt bike seat, but after 700 miles in 72 hours with better than 70% of it being off-pavement, I found that it was money REALLY well spent. Here's my little review video I put together this weekend:
  23. i was changing my tire (the one i put on was raced a few times and given to me free) and i couldnt get it to seat in a small section. I got the tire on, pumped it with air (tube holds) but there is a 5-8inch section that wont sit properly, instead it is staying tucked into the rim. I tried pumping it up pretty high and deflating it, also bouncing it around. Long story short, I couldnt get that section to pop out and seat correctly after about 30-40 minutes toying with it. What can i do to fix it quickly/easily at possible? do i just have to start over from the tire being half popped off like it would be to take the tube out? Thanks in advance!
