  1. It has become very hard to find an atk speedo, although I just got one off ebay after watching for a year. I just saw the exact same speedometer on a Yamaha XT550. I looked on eBay, and there are several Yamaha xt speedometers, some new. So in all, atk speedometer is also a Yamaha speedometer for those of us looking and unaware of the part crossover.
  2. Hello everybody, I've got some issues with my WR 450 F, it's the '12 version with fuel injection. I noticed the speedo wasn't working, its reads 0 when riding. checked the speedo cable, looked fine. A mechanic friend checked it and said the cable is working. I checked all the connections, opened up all the sockets and even mesured resistance of the cables that go from the speedo cable too the dash. Nothing seems abnormal. Still reads 0 &%$#@!ing annoying. Anybody got some tips? thanks!
  3. Hello everyone, I am new here so i apologize if there is already a topic about the Honda MT250 Elsinore dirt bike. I am just now starting a restoration on my 1976 MT250 Elsinore and I am trying to go through the bike now and see what is re usable and what ill need to replace. Im having trouble finding a good source for parts, possibly because they are now hard to find? im not sure, but i was hoping someone could shed some light on this. Im pretty sure my wiring harness is shot, and needs to either be remade or replaced if i can find a new remake of it. I also know ill be needed new bushings, seals, chain etc.... One more question! haha........ My bike doesnt currently have lights or a speedometer ( im not sure if it ever did, or if it was removed). Do i need to do any upgrades to the electrical system to add lights and a speedometer? Any info would be greatly appreciated
  4. I have a 2008 Yamaha r6 I bought with the speedometer not working but the turn signals indicators, brights indicator, and neutral light work but no RPM or MPH Can someone who has had a similar problem mind helping me out ? Thanks
  5. Hey guys only the orange backlight is coming on the speedometer when turning the bike on, all signal lights are working just no readings on the speedometer. Does anyone know if this is something worth trying to fix or am I just better off getting trailtech? Thanks.
  6. Broke my speedometer. Looking into new ones. I’ve seen a bunch of talk about the trail tech specifically the vapor. Has any one heard of the sambo? Or anything other than the vapor? Or is that pretty much the best choice? I do like the sambo has gear indicators on it. Since you can’t keep the piece on the side of the oem one that has the N indicator. I thought that would be nice and that’s something the vapor seems to be lacking. But has anyone actually gotten that to work on the drz? I noticed a post a few years ago and I know much doesn’t change on the drz but hopefully something new came out since then. Thanks
  7. Would someone please help me with a part number for the combined speedometer/tripmeter for a 1991 Honda XR250R? Not the 250L street legal version, but the 250R dirt only. "37200-KSC-305" seems to be only the tripmeter. A trip off a creek bank and over the bars took out the original unit. I am not seeing any part numbers on what is left of the old one.
  8. Hello, before creating a new topic, I did a search without success. My 2015 EXC-F 250's dashboard is not fully working, when I bought the bike (used) I noticed that the dashboard came on upon starting the bike, but I never noticed it never tracked speed or nothing; the troubleshooting started by checking the wiring from the power but since it turned on upon starting the bike, that was checked off; next I replaced the battery in the module, checked off but still no solution; after consultation I was told that the cable/sensor tends to fail in KTMs so I replaced the entire cable and wheel magnet; it didn't work, so before having to replace the module, can I get more suggestions on possible solutions? thanks.
  9. For those who may be still playing around with street legal XRs and looking for a Speedo, the Atk Speedometer has been thrown around as being a good option. It has become very hard to find one, although I just got one off ebay after watching for a year. I just saw the exact same speedometer on a Yamaha XT550. I looked on eBay, and there are several Yamaha xt speedometers, some new for sale. So in all. "the" atk speedometer is also a Yamaha speedometer.
  10. Anyone have any experience adding a switch to the speedometer backlight, or power in? Anyone know of side effects to killing power to it all together briefly for stealth mode? I’m looking to add separate headlight and tail light switches as i had once done to an 08 230L. This seems to be the difficult / unfamiliar part. Thank for any info!
  11. Hello, can someone help me with the part number for a speedometer, I was searching for one and I could not find this OEM speedometer. The bike was bought from Italy , it is a yamaha 2005 wr250f, I will attach a photo with one from another bike. If needed I will provide also the VIN number. Many thanks.
  12. Hi guys, Bought a new FE 250 final December and made a few rides with it but after 14 hours and 450 km the speedometer stopped working, turned off, and got wet inside. It never worked again, so the dealer replaced it with a new one, same as stock. The problem is that after only two more rides, 4 hours and 135 km it happened again. The speedometer got water inside again and stopped working. It shows the numbers but didn't start working and counting... It seems that the Portuguese importer of Husqvarna and their dealers are aware of this problem but I don't know if they will replace it again or how many times more. Here we are in the Winter, get some rain and low temperatures, about 4 or 5º Celsius, and every time I ride I wash the bike with water pressure but have very careful to not pour water directly to the speedometer or too close, but I have to wash the bike and this speedometer need to be waterproof, I'm I wrong? I'm not the only one with this problem, last month I knew a guy, with a TE 250, that has the same problem... Does anyone have the same (bad) experience? What can I do or what another speedometer should I ask my dealer? Thanks for any help 😉
  13. Hey, I've just bought a CRF 450 L from 2019, and I'm waiting for it being delivered. I want to rebuild it to a supermoto as soon as possible. I've already bought some 17" wheels but I'm facing a problem with the speedo. Furthermore, I saw some people use the SpeedoDRD calibration device from 12 O'Clock Labs but its pretty expensive and I want to keep it as simple as possible. I've heard that warp9 equipped their wheels with some ABS pulser rings that fix the speedo. As already said I have some different brand wheels, but I still would like to get that ABS pulser ring, but I can't seem to find one. I've search on the internet, but I didn't find anything about that. Does somebody know which pulser ring I exactly need and where I can buy one? I already wrote warp9 and asked if there is a way I can buy such a ring separately but I'm still waiting for an answer. I would really appreciate some help!
  14. Found a 1995 DR350 for sale but missing the gauges. Need it to be street legal. Need recommendation for a universal trip computer anyone has had good experience with???
  15. Ive been looking round for a speedo for my drz400s 2004, came across one I liked on this Australian mxstore but it said it was for a drz400 2000-2020, drz400e 2019-2020 and a drz400s 2015. I'm not very familiar with the differences between a drz400e and a drz400s so just wanted to check to see if the speedo below is compatible with my drz400s 2004. Just to add, I do have a speedo drive on my front wheel. Cheers https://www.mxstore.com.au/p/Trail-Tech-Kawasaki-Suzuki-Yamaha-Endurance-II-Com/202-119
  16. Hey everyone, this is my first post on this forum, but I have been reading other topics for a while now. I'll give a brief description of my problem first; My speedometer and headlight began flashing and would stop doing so when the throttle was released, the footage I linked is not mine, but it is exactly the same problem I was having. To explain in more detail, I was on my ride home when I first noticed the headlight flickering, after watching it I noticed the speedo was doing the same. I got home and messed with the bike a little, and when I would open the throttle above a certain rev the speedo would begin to flicker like in the video attached. When I first encountered the issue it was day time and the speedo backlighting was not on, after I left the bike for an hour or two I came back to check the bike again, at this point it was night time and when I turned the key the speedo backlight did turn on. I tried to e start the bike and the starter wouldn't turn over, then the speedo turned off completely and only the neutral light was lit. I assumed this was due to a dead battery as I had read on a thumper talk topic (linked below) where this video was taken from that his battery was a dud and had to be replaced. At the time I thought this could have possibly been due to an overheated stator and the battery was drained from my ride home and a parastic drain from the wiring. After testing my battery I found it was 13.3 V and was basically fully charged. This makes me think the stator is not fried as the battery would have drained from riding if the stator wasnt charging the battery. I plan to go through the wiring harness and test all the electrical connections, see if there are connections or ground wires that have vibrated loose. As this will take some time, in the mean time I figured I'd see if anyone has any ideas on what the culprit could possibly be or where I should start to look to fix the problem. Any response is much appreciated, Cheers Original topic where I obtained the video:
