  1. Looking for a place to help me with sag / suspension set up. Willing to travel if reputable.
  2. Hi, I have a 2005 kx 85 and I’m looking to but I different shock for it and I was wondering if a shock off of a 2006 would fit? So if any one knows anything it would be greatly appreciated as i need to buy it very soon. Thanks in advance, Caden.
  3. Hey guys I recently purchased a ‘20 Sherco 3004t factory edition with the KYB suspension and was wondering if any of you suspension geniuses had any recommendations on setup for a 190lb c class rider. I ride mostly mountain single track.
  4. So I’m buying a 2020 Honda crf250 fl Mx. this will be my first bike. The only thing I am worried about is the suspension as this is not a race model. I’m a beginner but looking to grow into the sport and eventually do jumps. Are there Aftermarket fork and suspension upgrades I can buy or can I swap my suspension with the racing model down the line, or will I have to buy a race model when I get to the point I wanna send it. Any help would be awesome I just don’t want to fork out double the price of the trail model right off the bat.
  5. Does anyone have any experience with the replacement shocks on ebay for the pw80? Just want to make sure they all have dampening. I got a set for a small 4 wheeler and they had none whatsoever. The stock one on this old pw80 has lost all dampening. Just looking to get back to like stock without spending $130 for OEM Yamaha shock.
  6. Hello, i see many factors can make wheelies easier such as tire pressure, bald tire or maybe the positioning of ( handle-bar, brake pedal or shifting lever ). Anyone has any setup to make wheelie On a dirtbike easier plz share it here. this is not how to wheelie thread!! This is about achieving the best setup for a better control on a wheelie. For example, i just bought a yz450f 2016 and i am struggling with side to side balance past balance point. Got better when lowered the tire pressure but still struggling a bit!
  7. So after reading a bunch of threads on here regarding racetech springs I thought I'd post my situation and get some of your guys opinions. I have a 2001 KDX 200 that I mainly ride on trails / hare scrambles. During my last race I ended up blowing the rear shock. I noticed after the fact but the spring actually started to rub the case which I was really pissed about (see picture). What actually ended up happening is the spring compressed so much that it got caught on the case lip and rubbed away the aluminum. For now I plan to watch that section of the engine. That being said I plan to rebuild the rear shock but wanted some info on the racetech spring recommendation. As seen in the picture I think the bike has the stock spring on there (5.0kg/mm). When I put my info into racetech (225lbs, 5'11", single-track/enduro, novice/c class) I get a recommendation of 5.71 for my rear shock which is pretty much right in the middle of the spectrum of what is available, 5.6 and 5.8 being my choices. Since I'm going to do a full rebuild of the shock I figured I'd get a spring that was proper for my weight and riding style. Any and all recommendations are welcome, thank you!
  8. Just picked up a TX300i, don’t have my owners manual and would like input from the community anyways. What PSI should I be running the air forks at? I weigh 220 without gear, 6’ tall. Mostly single track riding, moderate jumps, not bootin her. Looking for to soak up the rough stuff and smooth through the corners, thanks guys.
  9. I can’t seem to get the bladder off my shock for a rebuild, I already replaced it but I put the c flip in the wrong grove and it exploded and now I can’t seem to get my shock bladder off again, and don’t feel like buying the rush tool to get it off.... I’ve tried everything to get it off and am just wondering if there is a way to fill it up with oil without taking the bladder off. Anything helps, thanks.
  10. I'm going to pick up a stock 230F and I want to focus on suspension first. I'm 5'7" and 250lbs. Went to Colorado and rode trails and fell in love with the experience. Ive decided on a CRF230F for my vertically challenged self and for what I want to ride. But I know I'm going to need to upgrade the suspension. What or who do you folks recommend for upgrading the front and back suspension for a big guy? Located in the U.S. but I'd ship outside for the right mods. Thanks.
  11. Hello, Trying to make sense of the XPLOR shock on my 2019 excf450. I've built the bike to rally in the desert. All the extra weight of nav kit, tanks and fuel makes me bottom out pretty frequently. No other handling complaints though. Bike is lovely apart from landing jumps and dune transitions but this is so frequent the mudguard is taking a beating. Heaviest spring I could buy already installed, and AER forks are keeping the front end up (at 160 psi). I'm looking at revalving the shock for more compression dampening as I've already tried closing the adjustments off completely and there still too soft. One recommendation I've had from a suspension shop is to "remove shim #4 (28x0.15) and try it once more". This blew my mind as I thought only adding shimms for more compression would work... the only sense i can make of it is its a crossover shim for hsc/lsc so it will cause the whole stack to work as one fat wedge? Bike Setup: The weight is 93kg rider weight (clothed) 27kg of fuel/water total (8kg above the rear wheel/4kg on the sump rest in large capacity main tank) And aprox 3kg on the bars (roadbook) Tot:123KG Current shock setting is: Comp LS 8 Clicks out Comp HS 1/2 turn out Rebound 12 clicks out 83n/mm linear rate shockspring (the heaviest I could find) Shock is 23hrs from manufacture Thanks Maki
  12. I recently acquired a 1993 XR600 and have started to really put the hours on it. I've been attempting to dial in the suspension on the bike, but I don't have any baseline settings to go off of. I've checked the Honda service manual and haven't found any information. Would any of you fine gentleman happen to know what the stock compression setting for the forks and shock are? Any info on low and high-speed compression and rebound settings would also really help. I would also love to hear your clicker settings. Thanks
  13. So, the rear shock on my 2009 KTM 200 XC-W is leaking quite a lot and is in desperate need of a rebuild. I can't seem to find anywhere close to me that rebuilds dirt bike suspension. I live in Central Arkansas. Any suggestions?
  14. I have a Yamaha YZ250F of 2016. I have a cilinder with nitrogen myself and rebuild my shock a twice a year. During the Christmas holidays I want to rebuild my shock and also add a bit of low speed compression. During the winter I ride in unofficial public sand pits/tracks with only whoops/braking bumps. My compression ajusters are only 3 cklicks out but I can turn it in all the way and the low speed compression is still too little. I notice bottoming when riding over the rollers/whoops in the sand pit. During the riding season my shock is also too soft but it is less obvious. Last summer I replaced the piston band with an original KYB piston band and the two o-rings under the piston band. That made a lot of diffrence in the low speed compression. I advise everyone that looks for more damping in his shock to replace the piston band and o-rings first before making shim changes. The piston band is cheap and make a lot of diffrence when your bike is a couple of years old like my bike is. I will change the piston band every year from now on (the price is only $22). Before the OEM piston band I used the KYB metal piston ring with teflon coating. In my experience the high speed compression is good but the low speed is too soft. I think the metal ring does not seal enough for the low speed movement. I replaced the o-rings below the metal piston a couple of times for thicker onse to get more pressure but with limited results. The OEM KYB stock piston band is better in my opinion and costs only $ 18 + $ 4 for the o-rings. I did not use a tool to mount the piston band but put it on the piston like a motorcycle tire on a rim, if you know what I mean. It was very easy and the piston band was not damaged in any way. About myself: 190cm, about 80kg and i'm not slow. I ride 90 hours a year. I have a 56N shock spring (the same as a YZ450F). I used 3.5w oil the last time I rebuild the shock and the nitrogen pressure is stock. Current settings: low speed compression 0 to 4 clicks open, high speed compression 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 turns open and rebound 6 to 10 clicks open. My current shim stack looks like this (stock): Rebound 40-0,20*5 25-0.11*1 40-0.30*1 38-0.30*1 36-0.30*1 34-0.30*1 32-0.30*1 30-0.30*1 28-0.30*1 27-0.30*2 25-0,30*1 Compression 44-0.20*12 37-0.15*1 44-0,20*2 42-0,20*1 40-0,20*1 38-0.20*1 36-0.20*1 34-0.20*1 32-0.20*1 30-0.20*1 28-0.20*1 26-0.20*1 24-0,30*1 What can I do to make the low speed stiffer? Thanks for your help!
  15. Hey guys, I currently have a 2014 yamaha yz450f all set up for flat track and im looking at buying a new 2021 yz450f but im curious to know if my built suspension will fit the new models ?! Can't seem to find an exact answer online.... Its looking like the rear mono shock might fit but haven't heard much for the front forks
  16. Hello guys, I want to ask for your help. I have serious issues with understanding my suspension, so my question is does my Yamaha yz 125 2018 model fit me? Im 187cm tall and I weigh 185 pounds. I don't know If the bike can take my weight, Im just riding for fun so nothing really serious but I heard that maybe the stock suspension is not for my weight. I just checked my sag and its 130mm and I don't know If thats okay but I couldn't move the locknut. So guys Im asking for your help, should I buy new springs or should I get a 250 or just give up the sport cuz it's not for me? It's my passion so I hope I can find a solution! :)
  17. I have a 2001 Honda XR50. My front forks are bent, normal I know. I am hoping someone can recommend some good replacements. I was going to order OEM, but figure I will just rebend them. My nieces run it around, my nephew will be too when he gets big enough to ride a bike. I also tend to cruise it around, and tend to be a little tough on it 😅 . I was going to go with a set of +1 forks. I don't really think the Amazon ones are worth wasting money on. I was thinking Billetware, but not in-stock. Any other recommendations for an affordable, and durable set? Thanks!
  18. I am in need of replacing my rear shock on my 1999 kx125 and was just wondering if I bought a 1997 kx125 shock, will it work for a direct replacement for my bike?
  19. Hey guys, I currently have a 2014 yamaha yz450f all set up for flat track and im looking at buying a new 2021 yz450f but im curious to know if my built suspension will fit the new models ?! 20. I am looking for a rear shock for my 1997 yz125 project bike, I'm curious what years will fit on that bike?
  21. Hello, I recently purchased the new 2021 Sherco 300 SE. I want to really get this bike dialled in for my riding. I live on Vancouver Island. I ride technical single track. Pretty rough terrain, lots of rocks roots and hill climbs. So my question is this. Is there any recommendations for my suspension settings? I weight 240 pounds. I think I need to order a new spring. Any recommendations for a spring for my weight? Thanks
  22. I am curious how to get a modern ktm 690 to not look and feel so stink bug without swapping out to enduro/mx forks. Also, there is just not enough travel for offroad use, in my opinion. Is there a fork extension kit out there that I am missing? Thanks.
  23. I have 2003 yz250f forks that are beyond repair and have found a pair of 2002 yzf forks do you know if this will fit my bike . Or what other years will fit Thanks Dan
  24. Hi there, I was riding out in the dunes when half-way through the rear end of the bike started feeling funky. After assessing, it seems as if the initial sitting on the bike no longer has that soft springy feeling from the pre-load. Did a quick visual inspection of the spring and rings and they look fine. Any ideas? Linkage issues perhaps? Thank you for any help in advance. Seth
  25. I've been having thoughts of sending my Sachs CC forks out for a revalve, I've changed the springs out and they still feel harsh. I really want to try messing with the shim stacks in the cartridge myselfbut there's little to no info on what shims to put in there. Any suspension gurus willing to share some insight?
