  1. Went to Jewell MX in Watkins, CO on Monday and was pleasantly surprised to find out I had the entire park practically to myself. And in the process, cranked out my fastest lap times ever! Not to mention flying down some trails wide open in 3rd gear, and of course, a little enduro mixed in. Was a freaking epic day!
  2. What changes need to be done to convert a Mx bike to a decent competitive woods bike? I'm thinking suspension work, hi flow water pump, larger radiators, bark busters, flywheel and clutch mods.. Any other suggestions?
  3. Hey guys, this is gonna sound really funny, but I have never ridden a formal motocross bike... I have only ever rode a KX65 (if you would even consider it a motocross bike), but I am 270-280 pounds and 6'1 so I had my legs over the handle bars and shifted with my hand.... So I wouldn't really consider that riding (I only made it about 30 yards before I fell sideways cause the powerband wouldn't hit in first gear), but in my "stable" I have a 2012 TTR-125 (Rigged up suspension to make extremely stiff for the weight), my ol' 1982 Kawasaki KD80 (about 65 PSI compression or so (Legit can turn it over by hand while its on the stand) but once it warms up gets reasonable compression), the CRF2sexyL (CRF250l) (Has a Two Brothers M7 Slip-On, EJK, CBR250R friction plate, Barnett Clutch springs for a CBR300R, 13t sprocket, Some handguards, Seat Concepts Seat, getting it from the shop today with a Full Race Tech Suspension overhaul, and probably some other stuff I forgot about), an Orion 70 (Chinese bike for my little brother when he comes to visit), and soon to be a DRZ-400 (Not sure S or E, but will add FMF full pipe and whatever the DRZ needs), a soon to be a CRF150R (and a custom seat (The person who I am buying this bike for rented one and said it turned his buttucks into hamburger meat)), hopefully a WR450R in the next couple years (Going to be dual-sportified MAYBE) or maybe a KTM 500 EXC (I am hesitant to KTM for some reason, just don't like orange I guess)... I won't ride the CRF150R since it won't formally be mine, so what is a motorcross bike like compared to all of my trail bikes? I have always riden trails, but I have been riding at Durham Town (google it), and the TTR-125 doesn't have enough oomph, and the CRF250L still might not have enough suspension (they have some gnarly trails).... Do I need a true motocross bike? Or will the race tech be enough? Really I just want a comparison of power and suspension, etc.... Should be a fun topic!   4. I am 5'5/5'6 134 pounds and 14 years old and am looking to get a new bike. I ride trails and might do some racing. I am coming off a klx140l and have outgrow the bike (power and size). I am looking at yz/kx/rm 125 and kx 100. Lots of riders I know are saying get the 125 and grow into it. But it sounds like a lot of bike. Any suggestions on which bike I should get?
  5. I was wondering what would be the best trails for an amateur dirt bike rider? Trails with variety like tight trails, climbs, rocky, enduro stuff. Not just a straight wide line the whole time you know? Give me some options.
  6. I wanted to start a thread were we could talk about all the great memories we've had over the years. I have some memories that truly complete me when I look back, I bet we all do. It'd be cool if we could share some. Funny, painful, stupid, badass, whatever, it belongs here. I have so many I don't know where to start, so I'll start at the beginning. I remember the first time I ever took my new to me RM85 to the track. I was 14. Sandbox MX in Michigan if your from these parts. I practiced on the kids track for like 20 minutes and looked out at the big track and was mesmorized. All those big guys and big bikes ripping that huge intimidating track. I went for it, and my life was never the same. It was so hard but at the same time it was the most fun I'd ever had. A euphoria i had never felt. It was so profound, I was instantly in love. It was better than drugs or sex. The ruts were so intimidating, haha. I remember my face pasted to the window staring at the track as we drove away like "Oh my god that was the best thing EVER!" For months I couldnt wait to go back. That was fall, and the winter between then and the next time I rode was like torture. I would stay up til 2 AM everynight watching YZ125 gopro videos hahaha. We used to ride these powerlines behind one of my best friends house. We ripped the matted weeds down into perfect loamy black dirt, into a whooped out, rutted out oval. It was the perfect practice track. Everyday I would come home from school when I was 16, get on my YZ125, and ride a mile down to my friends house and we would rip the "track" all night. this was the first place where riding actually "clicked" for me. I started to "get it". I remember feeling that feeling of letting it go wide open 6th gear and just thinking "whatever happens, happens" or "F it" and letting the bike work underneath me. Such an amazing feeling. Spent so much time back there, thats when I really started to improve. Eventually the power company rep came back and told me i couldnt ride there anymore (which of course I still did) and then eventually a cop came back and said he didnt care but if the power company tells us to stop again we have to stop. We still rode back there, but it eventually got too overgrown. I'll throw in a few little shits just to bother you guys who are real uptight too lmfao... One time we were camping and my buddy started a huge fire with VP110 and put his back tire in the fire and roosted the shit out of it and made a dirt bike flamethrower. Or the time when we were in the powerlines and my other friend killed a rabid possum raccoon with a huge stick, and I hung it from the powerlines (it was our mark). I remember a time me and one of my best friends were riding the trails and he shot a baseball sized rock off his back tire and i clearly saw it in the air, watched it as it hit my neck, and we kept on ripping the turns 5th gear. That was a good/bad feeling. Second time I took another friend to the track, he tried to hit this step up which he shouldnt have even thought about trying to hit. After you land there is an immediate 90 degree left hand turn. He over shot the step up, landed flying W no hands on the bars, and rode like this into the 90 degree berm which was like a jump face, except steeper. He literally ass seat bounced 20 feet in the air, over the fence behind the turn where there is a good 40 foot drop onto a road. Everyone at the track watched and looked at me and I just started running. I literally ran across the track and said screw the rules, I thought my friend broke his back or neck or something bad. Sprinted as hard as I could in MX boots over this fence (his bike flew threw the fence and made a huge hole which is still there) and I found him with just the wind knocked out of him. I was so relieved that he was alive and not paralyzed. The flaggers and people that saw it couldnt believe it. We all thought he was gonna be messed up. Just a very very sore back. Kinda reminds me of the first time I went to Baja Acres MX and got landed on by a 450. fun times
  7. Hello all, I just moved to new brunswick from Ontario. I have no idea where to ride, How to get my bike suitable to ride here. Haven't really found much on facebook or google about where to ride and race here. Does anyone know good places to ride in the Shediac and Moncton areas and Where and how to race through out NB. Looking for some good trails, single track and motocross tracks. Also looking for people to ride with. Thanks!
  8. I was wondering what the deal is with the OFTR, As I am aware, you dont need a OFTR membership to ride at gannaraska but you do at norththumberland. I have been trying to do things legally, I have insurance, green plate etc... but it seems everytime I find somewhere to ride there is something else you need. So my question is, Do you need and OFTR membership to ride Norththumberland trails and what is the OFTR? Do they check for memberships on the trails?
  9. looking for supermoto guys or girls to brap with. so far theirs 3 of us. looking for a couple more to ride with and get lost and explore with and do fun shit with, no creeps, ass holes, scummy people. keep it real, supermotos, trying to keep it safe and fun and fairly legal and no douchery. theirs a time and place for everything and we dont need tickets and to get screwed up or anything. i sound like a priest or some little bitch saying that but i know alot of shitty people in the world so yea i dont care. 3 of us mid 20s, single and free to ride almost all summer other than work getting in the way of riding. we usually just get lost on back roads, towns, wherever the road takes us and cool places. its cool. so hit me up we would love a couple more cool people to chill with and ride with and do supermoto shit with. warren, morris, sussex county areas, washington, hackettstown, even pburg and stuff we ride wherever pretty much, but those general areas. we go out to pa along the deleware alot and stuff, its fun, alright im done typing, just hit me up, we arent bad dudes. id put pics of our bikes and us up and stuff but i dont have any on my computer so, idk just hit me up....

Hello all, I am a PA resident living in the Pittsburgh area and I am looking for somewhere to ride some good trails that are not too far from Pittsburgh and places that I do not need Liability Insurance or a Title for my bike. Nothing too technical, just a good place to have some fun and not have to be an expert to make it through. Obviously the closer the better, but I am hoping to stay within 2-2.5 hours. I also do not mind going into West Virginia or Ohio if I have to as long as it is within my distance range. Thank you for the help in advanced, and sorry if this is a repeat of a thread, but I could not find what I was looking for.

This weekend of May 27th, we have: District 23 MX is Cambridge and Millville, presumably organized practice on Saturday if you're just a "professional practicer" like me Off-Road has nothing, but you should be getting ready for Huntersville Enduro on Sunday June 4th (3rd for youth) Hare Scramblers should be getting ready for Meadow Valley on Sunday, June 11th Open Motocross Arkansaw, WI Meadow Valley Trails I'm not sure here, this site http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/ohv/closures.html shows that some places are closed, where Snake Creek and Trout Valley in Southeast MN show open. Could be they got hit with less rain, have different soil or drainage, etc. Geez that's about all I can find. Pipe up if I'm wrong somewhere or you know more places open this weekend!

  16. So I just bought a 2008 crf230f and the Spark Arrestor cap/ Silencer was removed from it. It is extremely loud and sounds awful. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for what I should get to replace. I'm looking for something that is loud as (or at least close to) the volume level that the stock muffler gives, performance is not really an issue for me. Also, I'm on a 50$ budget. Any advice is appreciated! Pic related
