  3. Hello all, I just moved to new brunswick from Ontario. I have no idea where to ride, How to get my bike suitable to ride here. Haven't really found much on facebook or google about where to ride and race here. Does anyone know good places to ride in the Shediac and Moncton areas and Where and how to race through out NB. Looking for some good trails, single track and motocross tracks. Also looking for people to ride with. Thanks!
  4. I was wondering what the deal is with the OFTR, As I am aware, you dont need a OFTR membership to ride at gannaraska but you do at norththumberland. I have been trying to do things legally, I have insurance, green plate etc... but it seems everytime I find somewhere to ride there is something else you need. So my question is, Do you need and OFTR membership to ride Norththumberland trails and what is the OFTR? Do they check for memberships on the trails?
  5. I have been riding dirt bikes for a little less than a year and I always ride trails and enduro. I have a crf250x right now and want to get a two stroke to go with it, should I get a Ktm 250 mxc? Or should i go with a yz 250 or cr 250? I've heard good and bad things about all of these bikes, and I need some help making a decision. I am going to look at this bike soon: https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/mcy/d/2000-ktm-250-mxc/6552466361.html. I don't know if it is a good deal or not. Please help.
  6. Hey guy I’m going to the beach in ocean shores, Washington in a few weeks. Wanted to bring my bike to explore, primarily want to ride some dunes by the coast, wanted to ask if there’s any designated riding around that coast of ocean shores, or grayland area?
  7. I know someone who is looking to retire in northern California or southern Oregon. Any tips on where good riding areas are, or nice areas to live? He's got a KTM EXC 350, and likes everything from fire roads to challenging single track. He says that some of the property he looks like is backed up against BLM land. His wife will be having horses too, so they'll want the best of both worlds. Thanks, Toby
  8. I’m a teenage girl and new to riding dirt bikes but I have previously rode atvs for fun. When I would ride the atvs I would just wear a helmet which I don’t think was the safest or the same as a dirt bike. I’m not exactly sure what is a must for riding and staying safe so I figured I would ask for some help on here. I will mostly be riding through grass or farm fields, and dirt/mud/tree trails. So far I’ve been looking at a fox v2 mips helmet and I already have a pair of gloves. I can spend some money but don’t want to be spending a fortune when I’m not that into it yet but also don’t want to be going to the hospital in the first few times I ride my bike either. I’m just looking for some advice on what is a must have and what isn’t really needed to stay safe and be comfortable when riding. Any other tips to a beginner will be helpful too! Thanks to everyone that helps!
  9. Does anyone know of any trails still open in Maine
  10. Looking for trails in the NE area, as much dirt as possible to get me from PA up to the northern tip of Maine...looking to camp along the trail....and hit some little towns along the way for supplies and fuel. Any suggestions, advice and knowledge would be very helpful thanks! p.s. light ADV setup DRZ400s
  11. What changes need to be done to convert a Mx bike to a decent competitive woods bike? I'm thinking suspension work, hi flow water pump, larger radiators, bark busters, flywheel and clutch mods.. Any other suggestions?
  12. I got into a small heated discussion with one of my coworkers the other day and i am still bugged by the conversation. Id like a little insight on the subject so feel free to share your opinion, concerns, comments or rambles. So i live in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I just recently got into motorized riding and have been riding mountain biking for a few years now. I am outdoors as much as time allows. I care about the environment around me and do my best to clean up trails and keep nature as natural as possible. That said......My coworker is an intense Mountain biker. The discussion came about because i asked if she knew how to access a trail system near her house. She then attacked me verbally saying that us motorized riders don't respect trails, or we widen them, or we are just &%$#@!.(granted, we can all be &%$#@! or bitches if we want) I was a bit taken back by her accusations when all i did was ask a simple question. Now to her point if the trails were or are muddy and wet then i would indeed be destroying trails. But i wasn't planning on riding the trails, just wanted to figure out how to access them for when they do open in a week or so. Okay, all that being said my response to her was "I pay taxes, registration fees, my bike is insured, i have health insurance and i have to pay to use the trails on my bike. You however ride the same trails, motor ways and do damage to trails just like i do but do not pay ANY fees." SOOOO i guess my post is to ask a question to the community: Should mountain bikers be required to have a sticker to ride trails? Should they have to register their bike if riding on the road? Should us dirt bikers be allowed to ride mountain bike trails since we actually pay to use trails and roads?(I know, not very realistic) Have you ever had any troubles with a pedal biker on your dirt bike?
  13. Sup fellas, Made my first bike clip, rippin thru the woods at last light. Give a like and subscribe if u wanna see more short adventure highlights like this. Suggestions are welcome. -Zamboni
  14. Hello all, I am a PA resident living in the Pittsburgh area and I am looking for somewhere to ride some good trails that are not too far from Pittsburgh and places that I do not need Liability Insurance or a Title for my bike. Nothing too technical, just a good place to have some fun and not have to be an expert to make it through. Obviously the closer the better, but I am hoping to stay within 2-2.5 hours. I also do not mind going into West Virginia or Ohio if I have to as long as it is within my distance range. Thank you for the help in advanced, and sorry if this is a repeat of a thread, but I could not find what I was looking for.
  15. Welcome to another beautiful weekend! This weekend of May 27th, we have: District 23 MX is Cambridge and Millville, presumably organized practice on Saturday if you're just a "professional practicer" like me Off-Road has nothing, but you should be getting ready for Huntersville Enduro on Sunday June 4th (3rd for youth) Hare Scramblers should be getting ready for Meadow Valley on Sunday, June 11th Open Motocross Arkansaw, WI Meadow Valley Trails I'm not sure here, this site http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/ohv/closures.html shows that some places are closed, where Snake Creek and Trout Valley in Southeast MN show open. Could be they got hit with less rain, have different soil or drainage, etc. Geez that's about all I can find. Pipe up if I'm wrong somewhere or you know more places open this weekend!
  16. So I just bought a 2008 crf230f and the Spark Arrestor cap/ Silencer was removed from it. It is extremely loud and sounds awful. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for what I should get to replace. I'm looking for something that is loud as (or at least close to) the volume level that the stock muffler gives, performance is not really an issue for me. Also, I'm on a 50$ budget. Any advice is appreciated! 👍 Pic related

    ohio Tires

So, Im looking for a good rear tire to put on my KDX200. Ive thought about a hybrid tire but here in Ohio we have lots of mud and loose gravel. I was wondering what tire would be best for loose gravel filled hillclimbs but also works good in slimy type mud. but also works decent in hardpack. Main concern is the loose gravel hillclimbs, been thinking about a soft terrain tire as well such as a Metzeler MC360 Mid-Soft tire which has good reviews. anyone from Ohio have any good suggestions? not looking for a DOT tire though either.
  18. I am looking to go to Sedona for about 3 days this weekend. Hoping to find a good spot to camp and ride! Any suggestions? I am open to Pink Jeep trails and just about any terrain. I have OHV tags but my bike isn't street legal. Willing to buy a day pass to places if necessary.
  19. Went to Jewell MX in Watkins, CO on Monday and was pleasantly surprised to find out I had the entire park practically to myself. And in the process, cranked out my fastest lap times ever! Not to mention flying down some trails wide open in 3rd gear, and of course, a little enduro mixed in. Was a freaking epic day!
  20. I was wondering what would be the best trails for an amateur dirt bike rider? Trails with variety like tight trails, climbs, rocky, enduro stuff. Not just a straight wide line the whole time you know? Give me some options.
  21. I wanted to start a thread were we could talk about all the great memories we've had over the years. I have some memories that truly complete me when I look back, I bet we all do. It'd be cool if we could share some. Funny, painful, stupid, badass, whatever, it belongs here. I have so many I don't know where to start, so I'll start at the beginning. I remember the first time I ever took my new to me RM85 to the track. I was 14. Sandbox MX in Michigan if your from these parts. I practiced on the kids track for like 20 minutes and looked out at the big track and was mesmorized. All those big guys and big bikes ripping that huge intimidating track. I went for it, and my life was never the same. It was so hard but at the same time it was the most fun I'd ever had. A euphoria i had never felt. It was so profound, I was instantly in love. It was better than drugs or sex. The ruts were so intimidating, haha. I remember my face pasted to the window staring at the track as we drove away like "Oh my god that was the best thing EVER!" For months I couldnt wait to go back. That was fall, and the winter between then and the next time I rode was like torture. I would stay up til 2 AM everynight watching YZ125 gopro videos hahaha. We used to ride these powerlines behind one of my best friends house. We ripped the matted weeds down into perfect loamy black dirt, into a whooped out, rutted out oval. It was the perfect practice track. Everyday I would come home from school when I was 16, get on my YZ125, and ride a mile down to my friends house and we would rip the "track" all night. this was the first place where riding actually "clicked" for me. I started to "get it". I remember feeling that feeling of letting it go wide open 6th gear and just thinking "whatever happens, happens" or "F it" and letting the bike work underneath me. Such an amazing feeling. Spent so much time back there, thats when I really started to improve. Eventually the power company rep came back and told me i couldnt ride there anymore (which of course I still did) and then eventually a cop came back and said he didnt care but if the power company tells us to stop again we have to stop. We still rode back there, but it eventually got too overgrown. I'll throw in a few little shits just to bother you guys who are real uptight too lmfao... One time we were camping and my buddy started a huge fire with VP110 and put his back tire in the fire and roosted the shit out of it and made a dirt bike flamethrower. Or the time when we were in the powerlines and my other friend killed a rabid possum raccoon with a huge stick, and I hung it from the powerlines (it was our mark). I remember a time me and one of my best friends were riding the trails and he shot a baseball sized rock off his back tire and i clearly saw it in the air, watched it as it hit my neck, and we kept on ripping the turns 5th gear. That was a good/bad feeling. Second time I took another friend to the track, he tried to hit this step up which he shouldnt have even thought about trying to hit. After you land there is an immediate 90 degree left hand turn. He over shot the step up, landed flying W no hands on the bars, and rode like this into the 90 degree berm which was like a jump face, except steeper. He literally ass seat bounced 20 feet in the air, over the fence behind the turn where there is a good 40 foot drop onto a road. Everyone at the track watched and looked at me and I just started running. I literally ran across the track and said screw the rules, I thought my friend broke his back or neck or something bad. Sprinted as hard as I could in MX boots over this fence (his bike flew threw the fence and made a huge hole which is still there) and I found him with just the wind knocked out of him. I was so relieved that he was alive and not paralyzed. The flaggers and people that saw it couldnt believe it. We all thought he was gonna be messed up. Just a very very sore back. Kinda reminds me of the first time I went to Baja Acres MX and got landed on by a 450. fun times
  22. Looking at longer rides where 2.5 won't reach to the next gas station. I've got the stock tank on my 2004 and don't want to switch out with an Acerbis 3.2 because I want to be able to keep the bike light for shorter rides, so I'm looking at external options like the rotopax, maybe a 2 gallon-er? Are the 2 gallons too big, or are there other options I don't know about? Thanks in advance.
  23. Hey I got a 2017 Honda Crf150r that I purchases a few weeks ago. I paid 2900 for it. I rode it around and it rode great. Since then I've ridden it around a lot and its super fun. I realized that once its warmed up that it has a hanging idle and I'm not sure what to do because I want to sell it and would like to fix that problem. I would normally know how to fix this problem on a carbureted bike but fuel injection is new territory for me so I fell pretty lost. If someone would let me know what to do I would really appreciate it. Thank you!!!
  24. Hey guys, Im looking to buy a new Yamaha 2 stroke within the next couple weeks but i cant decide whether i would be happier with the 2018 yz 250 or the 2018 yz250x. Heres my riding background. Ive been riding for 15 years, I raced in the A class for 5 years until money got tight and i gave up racing all together. Since i then I realized how much fun single track riding is and just free riding with the buddies. I still occasionally ride tracks but about 80% of my riding is trails. I live in Michigan and if you have ever ridden in Michigan then you know the trails can get as rough as a motocross track. My local trails have sand whoops that i would compare to REDD-BUUUDDDS sand whoops. Ive never owned a "trail" bike ive always taken my race bikes and made them into "trail" bikes. My last bike being a Yz125. That being said i know all the mechanical and technical differences between the 2 bikes. Im a bit worried that the 250x just wont have the racey feel when im riding. Im also worried then when i do take it to the track the suspension will be a bit soft and the mellow hitting powerband will not allow me to seat bounce the big whoops. But now the standard yz250 might not have enough low end to help me skate through wet black slick dirt and the suspension might be a little to "non responsive" per say in studder bumps. Can you guys give me any sort of guidance. If you would like to check out my riding style on YouTube check out : "Yz125 2 stroke Shredding Michigan Enduro Trails." Thanks Guys
  25. hey guys hey guys I need a little help. I just bought a 2017 Honda CRF250R I realize I should have got the X Edition but I can't trade up or get a different bike now so I'm left with trying to modify it to hit the trails. my question is I'm having a really hard time controlling the throttle at low revs and in tight technical terain because it's a Motocross Edition so what can I do to help the smooth the throttle so that I don't whiskey throttle it and end up on my back side all day long.. I am also new to riding g so any help please.
