  1. Can you ask for a better gift under the tree than 2 of these? My son and I picked these up the other day after many hours of research and reviews. 250 XCs were on the top of the list until we came around and chose these for our 6'+, over 200lb frames. We couldn't be happier to have the opportunity to assemble them ourselves. Recall that lucky guy who recently won the Sherco 300 SER from Dirtbikechannel? Yep, my son drew the lucky number. That Sherco is what led us to the 300s. We loved the playfulness of the 2T and how light and agile it felt even though it was heavier than our 4Ts. It was just was too awkward, buzzy and unique for his taste so it went to a good home and the funds put into the TX300. I myself had a 300 listed as my dream bike so when he began the hunt I couldn't let him bite alone, hence two in the assembly area! We've got many memories to make on these together. We've already ordered some goodies as I know my bike will be with me a long time so the investment is warranted. Upgrades such as: Lectron Mule, AXP full skid plate, Turbinecore 2.1 and some smaller mods. Now to get back out there and finish assembling it so we can ride!
  2. Just bought a Husqvarna TX300 and the stock mikuni is giving me the worst gas mileage I have ever experienced on any 2 stroke. There is a little bit of spooge but not enough to seem extremely rich. Also, when I began running out of gas I would shut the gas off and the remaining gas in the bowl seemed to go forever. Perhaps the float if too high?
  3. I'm starting this thread to serve as a place to ask questions about Apex Technical Innovations cylinder heads (TE300, TX300, TE300i, and TX300i). Picking the right dome or domes for you is an important part of making sure your bike is perfect for you and I'm happy to serve as a resource here or in direct messages. I welcome any technical questions as well and encourage anyone with experience with us to share your setups, riding conditions, and results. Your feedback helps us continue to evolve and can help others with their decision making process. Thanks in advance! Matt from Apex
  4. Just picked up a TX300i, don’t have my owners manual and would like input from the community anyways. What PSI should I be running the air forks at? I weigh 220 without gear, 6’ tall. Mostly single track riding, moderate jumps, not bootin her. Looking for to soak up the rough stuff and smooth through the corners, thanks guys.
  5. Bought another husky to sit next to my FE501S when I bought my 2018 TX300 from halls Cycles in Springfield, IL a Friday ago, then picked it up this last Friday after getting all my parts I wanted on it installed at the dealer. Then put my first 6 hours on it the next day on some big hill terrain. I can’t say enough about how much I love this thing omg! This thing surpassed everything I had hoped for in buying it, so much low end grunt, so lightweight, great suspension! All I need to do is change the jet for just off idle to clean that up a bit and it’ll be perfect. Oh and change the sandpaper seat lol! Mods: fmf gnarly fmf titanium Powercore 2.1 vforce reeds g2 handguards rekluse 3.0 core exp michelin m12 front with bib mousse michelin s12 rear with tubliss emporer skid plate/pipe guard~not in yet
  6. I had the motor apart for some other issues and upon reassembly i cant get my clutch to work. If i tighten the 6 bolts down around the circle spring on the clutch it locks up the clutch lever and allows no pull or disengagment but if i back the bolts off say 5 turns each the clutch returns to normal operations. Ive had it apart a few times now and i cant figure out why it wont disengage or what seems to be wrong and i ran through the bike bandit diagrams and im not missing any parts. Im pretty stumped on this one
  7. I finally get to pick up my new TX300 Friday!!!!! After I helped set up a 2018 TC250,TE300 and TX300 I had to have a TX. Been a long time since I've owned a 2 stroke but dam the new Husky is super smooth. Got a good list of mods on order already. Dam I'm not going to sleep this week!
  8. couple months back on my way home from a 2 hour ride my bike lost compression and quit. lucky I was just by my driveway. pushed it back and immediately checked the spark plug and cylinder temps with a temp gun. all seamed fine. pulled reads and pipe. everything looked fine but no compression. pulled the head and found the top of the piston trashed from metal flying around. chunk went down beside the piston and scored the cylinder. bike had 59 hours and 2048km on it. pulled the motor and took it to the dealer for them to decide what happened. chunks of metal looks like bearing cage material but no play or evidence of anything wrong. the ktm tech found a bunch more chunks of metal in the bottom end but could not find out where It came from. ktm ended up paying for a new head, cylinder, piston, crankshaft and power valve along with all the associated gaskets, bearings and oil seals. total for parts was around 2900$ Cdn. I had to pay Labour as they couldn't find the source. Labour ended up being 730$ Cdn. motor is back and running great. I was happy with the result as it was 7 months out of warranty having never been back to the dealer with over 2000 km on it. here are pictures of the top end damage
  9. A few days ago, I was the happiest guy in the world. I saved up all my pennies to buy a brand new 2017 TX300-- the last one left at the dealership. I take my bike over to my friend's, that is an ex husqvarna dealer, to do some TLC (grease steering stem, linkage, wheels, etc..), and I want to get all the mods I want installed while the bike is clean, so I buy V-Force reeds because the reed block leaked from every pedal (I was somewhat expecting that anyways), and I pop the head off to check squish clearance. To my dismay the cylinder has ~5 deep marks up the cylinder-- deep enough to catch your nail on every one. I call my dealer and email them photos and husqvarna says because the person dismantling the bike isn't a husqvarna technician, they will not be warrantying the bike. This bike has 0.2 hours on the hour meter. I know this wasn't caused by me because I merely started the bike, let it warm up, and did a few pivot turns in the driveway before I shut it down. Husqvarna/KTM has no honour for their manufacturing defects.
