Hey Thumpers, We just picked up another DRZ...woot My son has moved up from a DRz125L and we picked up a nice 2002 DRZ250. Still has original back tire !! We are planning on doing a few mods and are following the "Uncork Your DRZ250" how to. PDF Here: Uncork Your DRZ250 I am a little confused about the main jet sizes listed in the “how to” It states the TM28 Stock Main Jet is #127.5 (4/042 180) So the (100.604) #127.5 is the round main jet and the (4/042) 180 is the hex main jet. The how to says I need 2,3 and 4 sizes up from stock. And says I need #137.5, #142.5, and #147.5 (4/042 180) ? This doesn't make sense ? So without taking the carb apart to look, does anyone know if this tm28 use the round jets or the hex jets? We are going to remove the restrictor weld from the header and add an FMF slip on. We will then do the airbox mod and replace the airfilter with a UNI filter. As per the "how to" we will change the pilot from a #37.5 to a #40 And shim the jet needle with three .025 washers. Can anyone chime in with more specifics on which main jet will work best for our future setup? Thanks in advance thumpers.
Hey guys! So I too just picked up an 18 FE501 the other week. It does sound like the worst lawnmower I have ever used. But so far it has been way more fun than a lawnmower lol. From the factory the bike has plenty of power and I can see why you wouldn't have to change anything on this bike if you're a casual rider. BUT thats not the case here, I never leave anything stock so by stating that, here we go. Here is a list of what I have already order/whats sitting in my garage ready to be put on the bike. Hi I have a 04 CRF250X. I want to make it better in the technical hard enduro tracks that I am going to be riding on it. Any tips to give it more down low power and less stall happy? Or just basically any modifications or after market parts that would do the best for me? Thanks!
Hello all, been here a long time ago when I had my 2003 xr650r. I had to sell that one a few years back and I have aquired a 2002 xr650r. My 2003 had a powerbomb header and fmf pipe. I am going to purchase a header and pipe for this 2002 but want to know your opinions about if I should go with FMF for the header and pipe? Any other suggestions? Best combo for uncorking? I plan to uncork it ASAP. So I will need a jet kit or maybe I can get away with spending less on a kit if someone knows the exact size jets I would need for full uncork and 6000' elevation? Also need a rear rack. I had a Baja designs rack before and I really liked it. Any others worth mentioning to me? Need buddy pegs. I ordered some before but dont remember brand or where I got them. They did the job and tucked up pretty nice. Anything there? I've seen some 650r's with the side panel that covers the air cleaner having holes in them. Are these homemade or does someplace sell them? My 2003 was never uncorked so what should I be expecting when doing that? I appreciate any and ALL info you guys can provide. Links welcome. I am in the USA Southwest NM. Thanks all. and GO BRP!!!
