  1. Does anyone know how to decode and find out the year from the engine serial number on a KX450f? I purchased a complete bottom end that’s supposed to be a 2006 but before I sink a bunch of money into it I would like to confirm. The engine serial is KX450DE008709
  2. Hi everyone thanks for the add to the group. I just picked up what i was told is a 2012 tc250. Big problem is I'm having a hard time finding the vin. I know they are supposed to be on the headstock. This one has 17 digits stamped into the LEFT side not the right. Nothing on the right. Heres the thing, I'm in Ontario canada and the 17 digit number I give the mto to register the bike comes up as an invalid number. Uh oh. Police say the sale thing. But its not coming up as stolen in any search? I called a husky dealer and they were no help. Is there any way I can find the original vin based on engine stampings etc? Or is the vin in some other weird spot? Thanks for any help.
  3. i have a ttr 125 with a vin and i can read the last to numbers. the vin is JYOE07Y42A026_ _ and then there are two i can read those are the two under line spaces. then on the case it says E304-030675. anyone know what year.
  4. Hey guys, I bought my 1987 rm125 (1985 rm125 motor) a while ago and I want to run the vin since I only bought it with a bill of sale. First off I'd like to ask where the vin even is. There's a number on the engine and that's all I've found. That number gets me nowhere when I run it through a vin website. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
  5. Hoping some Canadian Beta owners can help me out. I just bought a used 2014 Beta 250RR from one of the bigger, established, mutli-brand dealerships in Edmonton. Drove three hours each way to get it. Bike's in beautiful condition - looks almost new for $3k less. I get home, unload the bike, take it for a quick and somewhat precarious ride up and down my alley through the snow and ice, then introduce it to its new home and close the garage door. Once in the house, first thing I do after saying hello to my dog is call my insurance company. Liability insurance for the bike is a requirement here when riding on public land, and for just under $300 a year, it also provides theft and fire coverage. The insurance company tells me the vin doesn't exist in Canada, and that they can't insure it. So I call up the dealership, and one of their people says its likely that the bike has never been registered in Canada before, that there's a process of doing so, and if I call them back during the work week, they can give me a hand with that. To me, this is absolutely bizarre. Hoping its not a lot of extra work, and it better not cost me a single extra penny. The lack of liability coverage is not a big deal right now - riding season is at least two months away still. But I now have a somewhat costly piece of machinery sitting in my garage that, unlike the nearly as costly downhill mountain bikes its sitting amongst, isn't covered by my home insurance policy. I'm thinking the Beta may spend a few nights in my living room until this gets sorted. Anyone else experience this, on either a new or used Beta?
  6. Hello guys. I bought a crf250r two weeks ago. The seller told me that the bike is 08 year. Yesterday i recieved a front brake lever but it doesn't fit. I made a little research and the lever i got was for 07+ crfs but that one i had and broke was for crf 2004 or 2005. I have a certificate from Italy and thats the "VIN code"i got. ZENF250NEC0500283. I know that these crfs start with JH.... but that not.. Please help me identify which year is my bike.
  7. Hello, I have a yamaha ttr-230 and can't figure out what year it is...help please? Here is the vin# 9g6cg28y7b0006095
  8. Hi, I have been trying to decide the VIN on my bike. From everything I’ve found it’s says JH2 (Motorcycle Manufactured in Japan) etc... My problem is my bike starts with ME. I have found nothing on what this means, also out of curiosity, was this model and year of bike ever sold in Japan or was it only a U.S. model?
  9. Hi guys, I'm new here and bought a have 2001 a month ago and the engine is almost down in pieces, need the flywheel puller that's ordered and the parts needed for the rebound of the engine. I'm also ordering Haynes YZ manual as I think it will be a good buy for me. Anyway, the VIN strarts with CE08CE I think... on the back of my cylinder there where some mechanic had written with a marker pen -01 125. It seems like there have been a major failure before, as the head has small dents in it, and the cases are clearly not the same as the one with the VIN is much much smoother in the inlet and crank case. Engine VIN is E111E I think, or something very similar to that. It has a white Airbox and floating front brake, I've read on other threads here that that was a new thing for -01, is it? Fast help would be much appreciated so that I can order parts as soon as possible. BTW, here a rebuild with wiseco crank, all seals, new main bearings, new ring and all new gaskets cost about 500$. Just the crank at Yamaha was 1,200$ at the local Yamaha centre so you all should count yourself as very lucky! 😉 Thanks for help! I'll post other threads soon as I'm at the beginning is going to post the cases for a smoother flow and have complete HGS system. I really would love to have a 144 but I guess that will cost me insane money as everything is more expensive here, and I also guess sending head n cylinder to the U.S. would cost way to much too... So I'll, be doing what I can on my own and that's the cases for better flow and matchporting it to the cylinder. I much appreciate any help! Thanks!
  10. Hello I’m new here, I recently bought a mystery XR for 500 not a bad deal at all. Runs and rides like it should. Problem is idk what it is. ive tried a vin decoder and it didn’t pull anything searched this forum and a bunch of other websites. I’ve been told it’s a 92-95. Maybe I could get y’all’s help to tell me what I have. also anything that doesn’t look correct please point out. I think the case breather is suspect. ive also cleaned and rebuilt the carb, fired up on first kick no choke.
  11. I'm restoring my old 84 YZ250L and need some help identifying the correct " Wording " on my VIN decal off my frame's neck area . I want a local graphics shop to remake this Decal / Badge , but mine was half rubbed off ... Does anyone know what the missing words are ??? Thanks for any help , i really appreciate it !!!

One the forks I can see it was once license in Washington with an ORV is their anyway I can look it up to try and find the vin
  13. acquired a dirtbike couple years ago and got it running. i know its a PE250 by the vin PE250-11961 on the frame and PE250-11604 on the motor. i need to find parts for this bike as the clutch is worn out now and i need new brake pads. 14. Not sure want year this motor is think it’s sometime after 2000s and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what year the frame is the vins not legible anymore (great ik) but was hoping someone could point me in the right direction
  15. Bought a bike represented as a 2004 CRF450R. Case shows PE05E but the number tag is 1100050 which should be impossible. Frame number is partially missing (top part) but the bottom 7 digits are 1100045. Engine tag looks original. Cam chain tensioner is early style with phillips head. Frame number is stamped straight. Anyone heard of a CRF450R with a number lower than 2000000?
  16. Got the bike for free, older neighbor wanted more garage space. The plastic says "125DS". Electric/Kickstart, has blinkers and lights. The VIN is LLJPCJLA94G900006. Anyone have any idea how I cna get this thing titled and registered? It meets all other requirements for my state.
  17. Gday wondering if anyone could tell me what year my bike is its an Suzuki RMX 250 Australian model the vin is PJ11A103435 That’s all the numbers the bike has on the frame it’s not a 17 digit vin so it is hard to tell what year
