  1. Well shit. Didn’t it was possible to break an ankle in SG-12s. On a related note, I think desert riding is bad for my health. Hurts more to wad it up in 6th. See you guys in 5-6 weeks!
  2. I am in the market for a 6 x 12 enclosed v-nose trailer. Any brands to avoid? Probably going to buy new, any dealers to check out or avoid?
  3. Way back before I got old and was doing lots of MTB, I remember dirt bikes up in the Kettle Crest area (HWY 20 Sherman Pass) and don't see much listed as open to dirt bikes now. Anybody know if there is good riding up there? I'm in Spokane, and trying to explore a bit more this summer 😉
  4. Hi there dirt riders, I have 2 simple questions, first one is about registration tags. I just moved here from California a few months back, and im wondering if a green sticker from California would pass in Washington state for ORV purposes only (at least until the reg is expired) and since I officially live here now, I wasn't sure if WA dmv would be stickler about that. 2nd question is riding clubs and buddies, my brother and I are stuck at home with no truck, we are waiting on titles to arrive to trade in for a truck but for now we are without any method of transport (2 lightweight sedans with no hitch and no room to add a hitch) so were looking for either a group or a buddy who wouldn't mind truckin a couple of bikes to the trails, I know 2 bikes is a lot to ask for but man am I dying to ride. Im willing to chip in for gas or otherwise. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  5. AMA Volunteer of the Year Tod Petersen, Stanwood, Wash. 👍
  6. I joined the "Quad Squad" group on FB so I would be able to see when they are having a big group ride and know when not to be at Walker. And because I thought it would be good for a laugh. I hope they save some donuts for the staging areas. It's where they do all their best riding.
  7. Stolen bikes (and much more) found in Tukwila. https://komonews.com/news/local/gallery/stolen-trucks-boats-a-backhoe-power-tools-recovered-from-property-in-tukwila#photo-4
  8. Post here if you are looking for ride company or a guide for Tahuya.
  9. Anybody know current conditions and/or snowpack up in Gifford? Would like to get up there for some trail work with the saw(s) but since I need to plan ahead, I am trying to get a sense of what folks think the condition are like vs prior years. I know in general, July 4th is fairly safe, but would like to hit Laglille and Juniper which I believe to be right at 5.5k... Thanks
  10. Does anyone know a decent mechanic/ reputable shop in the Lynnwood/Everett area. Have problems with a 2016 YZ250F that I can't seem to figure out.
  11. I am swapping the fork springs on my 21' TE 300i and as far as I can tell I need a special tool for the preload adjustor to get the old spring off. Does anybody have one I could borrow? I'm in Tacoma, don't want to put the bike back together until I have the new fat boy springs in...
  12. I picked this 91 ktm 300 exc today for $500. I guess it had been sitting since 97. It runs and it's not been f'd over with hardware store bolts etc. It needs work but it has good compression and it started up after a few kicks. Sounds like the engine is still good. No excessive vibrations. Brakes still work suspension stiff has dampening. Has a boyesen rad valve nice skid plate rear brake rotor shark fin. The fmf pipe is pretty much gone. Will be fun fixing it up. I could probably put in on offer up for more but I want to keep it.
  13. Careful riding your dirt bike at multiple use areas popular with hikers. May want to bring a knife along at least. https://www.pinkbike.com/news/mountain-biker-stabbed-by-hiker-after-right-of-way-dispute-in-bellingham.html?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=mobile&utm_campaign=news
  14. Eddieville Spring opener Grand Prix featuring a combined OTBG round 1 with the NMA offroad series round 1 on Sunday March 7. Saturday is a MX track only playday from 8:30 to 4:30. No quads or UTV's , $25/rider with immediate household family discount. Weather looks great for the weekend. We are much drier than normal so there will be dust, perfect dirt,....and a few wet spots/puddles. Course is the longest ever at over 11 miles. Lots of new stuff, old stuff, and really old stuff. Some freshly disced fields, some rocky trails, and rubbing up to big sticker bushes should give everyone something they like. Not looking like much greasy mud or bottomless bogs if that's your thing. Ground will be soft so bring your horsepower, lots of gas because it is going to work the dog snot out of your bike's engine. Good luck if you are running a stock MX tank. Junior A,B,C's will start at 9:00am, short course will start at 10:30am, Long course at 1:pm. Riders meeting for Junior A,B,C will start 8:45 on the starting line. Big bikes meeting at 10:00am by the grandstands overlooking the new checkpoint setup. costs: gate fee 9 and up-$10 , Camping $10/weekend per vehicle. Junior A,B,C race fee is $25. Short & long course is $50. Please practice social distancing, Pre-enter to save mucho time....Be safe on and off the track. If you have not pre-entered, contact Debbie. OTBG2@gorge.net You have to contact the NMA to sign up for their series, and/or download our Grand Prix 6 of 7 series signup on our website. click on "Register Now". Both series sign-ups are optional unless you want to compete for year-end trophies.
  15. Hitting some advanced/expert trails. I'm on a trip with my biz partner and camping near windy ridge. If you are advanced rider or better, join us for what appears to be perfect conditions.
  16. Our group is starting the log out this Sunday March 19th providing not too much rain is coming down. The area is a couple of trails just twenty miles Northeast of Battle Ground (40 minute drive). You do not need a chainsaw but if you have loppers and/or a Pulaski that would be fine, I also have extra Pulaski's and loppers to loan out. Our hours are reported to the Forest Service and go towards grant money for even more trail repairs by outside groups. So if you like to spend time out in the forest like we do, please come on out and lend a hand. Please message me if you want to help out.
  17. So, the welded in mesh screen on my stock 2018 KTM 350 XC-F exhaust finally gave up and blew out at 100 hours, and with fires raging everywhere I want to make sure I don't start the next one. I also value quiet over performance. Options I'm considering are: 1) Replace the stock end cap, which will come with a new welded in mash screen. Not sure if this is USFS approved, but it's something. $108.96 2) Fisch Moto Spark Arrestor, USFS approved. $79 3) FMF Hex Q4 S/A Silencer, USFS approved, not sure if it's louder, might help bottom end? $350.99 Anyone have an awesome solution? Anyone have the Q4 and can compare it to stock sound wise?
  18. Spent the last couple days riding the Gifford Pinchot with my 14yr old. This place is so big and the riding so difficult I'm always on edge. Went there for the first time last year and this year we had a good loop from Valley Trail to Blue Lake Ridge trail and we did that in both directions. My question is what is the easiest way to get to Hamilton Buttes? We started heading that way on the Yozoo trail and turned around because of fear. The trail wasn't that hard but lot of exposure and if it did get gnarly + exposure I wasn't into that. Does the Yozoo trail get super gnarly with exposure or does it stay sort of tame but super skinny single track? We popped out onto a FS road at one point that looks like we could have taken straight to Hamilton Buttes but decide we'd save it for next time. Any advise is helpful. Thanks.
  19. Im riding the Mad Lake area at the end of the month. I was planning on staging out of Goose Creek one day and Pine Flat the day after. Just wondering if these are good spots to stage or should I look at Maverick saddle and Grouse Creek instead? Never been to this area so just looking to make the most out of the 2 days I have.
  20. It's that time a year again. Saturday the 16th the locks will have been changed out. So if you want to ride this weekend you better plan on swinging by the shop first and renew. I don't know the current hours so probably call first.
  21. What was your first real woods bike? Mine was this 1980 KDX 250. Would like to find a 1984 kdx 250 but they are rare the 175/200 got all of the love. Even though the uni trak 250's where good.
  22. Who lives and rides in Shelton, Belfair, Tahuya, Bremerton..etc? Heading up there to scope out the scene to find a place to live, and wouldn't mind meeting up with some single track riders. Basically want to ride at the house, or ride to the trails. Is that possible without being in a 1 horse town? Any good clubs to talk to in the areas? Any opinions are greatly appreciated! Cheers, Rob
  23. Heard that the Cle Elum Ranger district shut down the Taneum and Mannastash areas to "all" recreation due to wildfires started by lightning. Hope no one is heading over there today as they will be disapointed for sure
  24. I got an email for the Recreational Trails Program through ARRA-access and it looks like there's an "easy button" method of support for several. Just looking through the lists of projects for Idaho and Washington, you'll notice many motorized and non-motorized trails/projects over the last couple of decades. Maybe @tod701 Can chime in with inside information, but for now, here is a link. https://arra-access.com/action/
  25. Please plug this phone number into your cell phone. One of our volunteer crews actually extinguished a fire on a moto trail a few years ago. Thank you guys. Fire Management To report a wildfire at Gifford Pinchot National Forest call Columbia Dispatch at (360) 891-5140
