  1. Hey guys Recently took out my 2005 WR450 for a few hours and came back, parked up, all was fine and have left it for 2 weeks. I went back to the bike today and the oil is very milky and the coolant bottle empty. I started to drain the oil and fill up the coolant but to my amazement the coolant was going down so quickly it was actually pouring straight out of the oil sump.... So my question is, what could be the problem? maybe broken seals or gaskets somewhere? Thanks
  2. Good day, I've just bought an enduro jacket like in the picture below. There are two things I don't understand about it. First is what that ring is for. Seems I've read somewhere that it's to shut off the ignition in case you dismount. But how do I connect that ring to my motorcycle? I ride a street-legal Honda CRF250 Rally. The second question is about that socket for the water pipe. I don't understand where I'm supposed to put the water bladder. I have a Kriega camelbag and it works independently. But where it's supposed to put the water bladder when using that socket? There is a small pocket on the inner side just below it, but I doubt even a one liter bladder would fit there let alone 3 liters that I have. Please help the noob.

My CRF450R 2011 have leaking (oil with coolant) from water pump drainage hole: I install new mechanical seal (7), oil seal (16) and new bearing (15): Filled new coolant and run my bike, all was fine, but after 15 minutes I got heavy coolant leaking: Disassembled again and noticed that "head" of mechanical seal is disconnected: What's can be wrong? Looks like problem with slight tightening (torque) (12 N/m) of impeller (part #6)? Sorry for my bad English.
  4. I have been having an issue with my Ignition Coil on my 2002 YZ125. Let me explain the story of how it happened. Let me preface this by saying I know what is happening and I know what the specific problem is, I need to know if their is a way around this, and if anyone else has had this issue. So I go for a ride, everything works fine, end of the ride, go to wash the bike. Go to start it up afterwards, it does not rev out, as in it will idle but if you turn the throttle, the ignition doesnt advance, rpm stays same, but the system introduces more fuel and air obviously since throttle is open. This issue started about 6 months ago, so since then I have eliminated all the obvious and went through everything to determine it is in fact the secondary ignition coil that is failing. I am pretty proficient with this stuff and pretty much figured out the problem, but have never seen a topic on something like this and want to resolve the issue permanently. But I will walk through all the steps to ensure readers that it is this specific problem to save us both time haha. At the time i did not notice the ignition was not advancing and I naturally thought to look at carb, spark plug, plug cap, powervalve, top end, clocked jets, paper towels in airbox ect..... Well instead of even having to go through the carb, I was actually going to put a different carb on that night either way (Lectron Carburator), and that obviously didn't change anything. Checked Powervalves, changed spark plug, put different fuel in for the heck of it. Checked compression and also looked at the bottom end seals and made sure I did not have an air leak. Everything was perfect, as iv went through the entire engine a few months before this. So then I started looking into electrical. First thing I did was replace spark plug cap. That didnt do it, even though that was giving me wonky Ohms readings. Then I went through the entire electrical system, stator, ignition coil, kill switch. Everything tested good except for the ignition coil initially. Ended up replacing ignition coil. I also filed down the frame leads to bare metal that the ignition coil attaches too. ----- That fixed the problem, or so i thought. Started up and revved fine. Next week, I wash the bike, and it fails again. But this time I let the bike dry out... try a few hours later, and the problem is fixed again. At this point I determined that the water was causing the problem. So I go back and check both igniton coils and realize they both test the same, and that its really hard to get a steady reading on either of those parts. Throw the old one back in real quick and that works fine. Went through and checked all the wires again and used di-electric grease this time on things. Kept having this problem occasionally since then. It is never the end of the world because I know what is happening... and if I wait an hour, sometimes it takes a few, it will resolve itself. So the problem: Something going to the secondary ignition coil, or the coil itself is shorting or intermittently failing, and it is because of water. I do a very good job washing my bike and it always looks showroom condition, so I am spraying water everywhere, but all the electric is sealed up. I know a solution would to be not wash it as well or spray up under the tank where electric is, but that is not an option, I would like to resolve this issue. Thanks for the help -Kirk
  5. BTW, I'm new to two strokes, haven't had one since I was a kid and dad did all the work. Ok, so I've searched and not found what I'm looking for so figured I'd ask here. Recently picked up a 2000 yz250 that supposedly has a 295 or 300 big bore kit. It ran strong so I didn't fret too much over the little things. Paid $1500 and took it home. Drained the gear oil and it looked a bit odd to me. I refilled with Rotella, ran it for about 15 or so minutes out back. Drained and it looked the same. ? Could this be water getting into the oil? Read somewhere that it should look like this but seems odd. Any help would be appreciated!
  6. Hi Giys, My bike is leaking by the weep hole. I removed the pump cover but cant remove the pump rotor, as the whole bike wants to move. Is there a trick to get it out without removing the whole clutch cover? Bike is a 08 wrf450

  8. Hello so I have a 2005 CRF250R. After a long ride on Thanksgiving I decided it was time to clean the air filter. After I cleaned it and re-oiled the filter I realized that the air boot area where the filter sit in was kinda dirty with dirt that felt oily to the touch. I got some water and a brush cleaned what I could out of it (could not get all of it that stuff was stuck on there). After that I reinstalled the air filter and put the seat on. The bike sat like that for about 3-4 days. Now today I just tried starting it up it was a total fail. I spent 30 mins trying to get it to run, when finally I bump started it enough times on a hill in first gear near my house with the choke on. The idle did not sound right. Usually with the choke on the bike sounds like it revs high. All I got was a weak idle with a little bit of power to carry me back up the hill to my house in 1st. As soon as I gave the bike throttle IT DIES and as soon as I take off the idle it dies!! Happens every time. The only thing I can think was did water get deep to the carburetor or in the engine, if so what do I do? I mean it runs but very poorly if that is a good sign. I recently took the carburetor apart because the bike was not running and there was a plugged jet but the carburetor has been cleaned literally 1 week ago. AND YES THE GAS PETCOCK WAS ON! Please any advice would be helpful I'm about ready to sell the bike and get a Yamaha­čśů
  9. So I really like the convenience of a hydration bladder in my backpack when I am out riding but the water has been getting too warm too fast. Any suggestions? Been thinking about getting an insulated stainless steel water bottle but I am not sure if I can get a bladder tube for it or how well it will pack in my bag.
  10. hey, i was recently riding and managed to get into some deep water with my 2001 rm250 and after about 10 minutes it bogged out and wont start up. Im fairly new to dirt bikes and i know obliviously that much water isn't good for the bike and was wondering if i could get some help on how to clean out my bike and get it running again. thank you!
  11. I cranked my bike up today and rode it a bit ('06 YZ250F). There was some white smoke when I first cranked it up and it went away shortly. I assumed it was because it was cold outside, as the smoke had no distinctive smell and, as stated, it went away shortly. I'm just adding that in case it has something to do with my issue. Anyways, a few hours after my ride I went into the garage and pulled off my pressure cap just to take a routine look at the coolant. The coolant wasn't even visible at first but after shaking the bike around a bit I could see some at the bottom (THANK GOD). I refilled the radiator and put the cap back on and then started the bike up. No smoke, no smells, and the bike runs mint as usual. The bike had been sitting for 3 weeks before this, if that has anything to do with it. WHY is my radiator running out of coolant? I could see no water on the engine (sign of a leak) and my hoses appear fine. The pressure cap looks a bit dry rotted and is difficult to get off and on. However, wouldn't I notice if it was faulty? ANY help/ideas appreciated. Please let me know why my bike is drinking coolant! I can answer any questions as needed.
