  1. I have a 2008 CRF250R, and this bike WILL NOT run. Not with kicking your leg off, not with push starting. Every few kicks it'll backfire out of the airbox and that's all it'll do. Has new cam chain, hot cam, piston ring. I have checked, rechecked, reset, rechecked, disassembled, reassembled, and set timing for days and this thing will still only backfire. PLEASE HELP! Things that have been checked: Flywheel and woodruff key, no damage to key Cam chain tensioner changed to manual, its not too tight or loose Piston ring set right and staggered, Timing is set to match on right side timing mark, left side flywheel hashes, and cam lobs are back and matched with the top of the head, and TDC was verified while setting. Valves are within 0.005, exhaust is a 120 and the smallest shim so I can't get it and closer. Wiring harness replaced, grounds cleaned, connections cleaned, spark plug replaced. I'm completely at a loss and open to any ideas you guys might have.
  2. I have a 2008 WR250F dirtbike. My speedometer is very messed up along with something else electrical. First off, when I turn the key (I wired in a key ignition) the speedometer does not light up, the taillight doesn't work, and the headlight doesn't work. They only turn on when I kick it as my electric start doesn't work either. Then when I start to ride the speedometer reads anywhere from 100-189mph. Even when Im standing still, if I rev it up the speed will go up. Also I have gone through 2 AGM batteries in 4 months because they keep shorting out. Does anyone have any ideas on what is happening and how to fix it??? I need to sell it so I need to get this figured out. ***BTW I know that the problem does not stem from the new ignition I wired in because when those wires touch it blows the right fuse under the seat, happened to me when I was putting it in and that fuse is still good so no problems there.***
  3. Hello everyone, I'm gonna try and get pictures as soon as possible. But I think there is an issue with the motor that I can't seem to solve. I hope someone has advice on this. The power valve shaft has a slotted end to make sure the linkage is fitted on correctly. The entire power valve assembly itself is connected up. But as soon as I want to connect the power valve linkage (the part in which you need to insert the dowel pin if you want to screw it in/ unscrew it) then I have to put ALOT of preload on the power valve linkage to make it fit (pull the power valve linkage upwards). Also: once it is installed, the fork to set the dowel pin in doesn't line up with the hole in the cylinder whatsoever. The fork structure is left of the hole and I cannot rotate the shaft any more counterclockwise (complete dead stop). I can only rotate the power valve clockwise, but I need pliers to rotate the shaft clockwise, alot of force is needed. I have a suspicion that the rotation of the shaft is wrong, but I can't find how as everything is in place as it should be. Last time it was revised by a mechanic and I found it this way. I couldn't insert the setpin because the hole didn't line up with the fork. This is a stock image from the interwebz: (not my bike)
