  1. I have a 2015 KTM 300 XC that has all of the mountings for a headlight and I was wandering if it was possible if I could put a freeride headlight on it with my current fender. Thansk in advance.
  2. Hey guys, I just bought a new 2018 300 XC-W coming from a 03 Honda CR250r and I absolutely love the bike. It is night and day different than my old woods weapon but holy shit is the seat hard. I have put a EE skid plate and pipe guard on this bike but I'm looking for recommendations for a different seat. What is everyone else running or have done to your seats to get them do it doesn't feel like you are being raped by your bike? Thank you

    2010 Plated XC-W 450

Hey Guys, This is my first time posting in this section of forum. I was looking for some advise/insight from KTM owners. Background: I currently ride a 2006 plated CRF450x. I mostly use this bike to ride to some local trails (I live in Columbia, SC) and to zip around town occasional. I have it geared 13/48 and cruise at 45 mph when I'm on the road. If I'm riding more than about 30 minutes from my house, I trailer the bike to the riding area. I ride trails moderately aggressively, as I am fairly inexperienced. I don't race or ride motocross. I've ridden on a track maybe twice. I currently have Kenda K270 tires on the front and rear. The bike has an FMF 4.1 full system (done by previous owner) The only mods I have done are opened up air box, re-jet the carb, finger adjustable fuel screw, and No Toil cageless air filter (b/c it easier to get in and out and the notoil oil makes for easy cleaning) I change the engine oil at maximum interval of 8 hours, and the transmission oil and oil filter at a maximum interval of 16 hours. I clean the air filter every 2 or 3 rides, depending on how dirty it is (its not too dusty were I ride). The CRF has about 175 hours on it, and it has yet to need a valve adjustment. I checked them recently and one intake was about 0.0005" off nominal. I like the bike, but in doing some research, I think a KTM 450 might be a better bike for my type of riding. I like the idea of sixth gear, so I can be geared low for the trails but still do (hopefully) 55 mph on the road for sustained periods. I found a plated 2010 XC-W 450 on craigslist in Orlando that I'm interested in. It has 44.2 hours and 1890 miles (mostly street) on it. It comes with dirt wheels and tires as well as 17" supermoto wheels and tires. So hear is my question: Is the KTM more reliable/better for light dual sport/supermoto use than the CRF 450? I'm not worried about on-road comfort, I don't ride for long periods and I'll just change the seat if it gets annoying. Basically I just want something that will go a longer between major services intervals. Like with the CRF, I'm not planing on any interstate riding. If I'm going to ride off road more than 20 miles from my house, I'll haul the bike there rather than ride it. Any advice/tips/comments would be appreciated.

    KTM 2-stroke Overheating

I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. My 2010 KTM 250 XC won't stop peeing coolant out of the overflow tube. I've used 3 different radiator caps (two of the oem 1.8 bar caps and one CV4 2.0 bar) and it still continues to pee coolant as soon as the bike starts up. I just recently bought and installed brand new radiators [GPI on eBay for $88 (the seem fine just the welds are a bit crappy and you can see inside of the tubes where the metal from the welds drooped down but there are no blocks)] and silicone hoses (profactory hoses) thinking they were the problem since the old radiators were bent in like bananas. To my dismay that was apparently not the issue. I've had everything apart and looked at. Has brand new base gaskets, head gaskets, radiators, and radiator hoses. I've bled the radiators like the manual says and there are no bubbles like air leaking into the system or being in the system. The jetting is also perfect. The only thing I haven't changed out is the oem impeller in the water pump but it looks to be in great condition. Any ideas on how I can fix this problem before it gets worse? Also, has anyone else had this problem and figured out how to fix it? I ride it in mostly tight 0-10 mph trails and also some 10-20 mph trails.

  6. It is time for me to do a top end on my 2012 KTM 200 XC-W. I went to the motorcycle shop to price up a top end, they asked me what grade piston is it that matches your cylinder. I had no idea about this, there are grades A, B and C and maybe more or less, all with 0.01mm differences, and it will say in my cylinder what piston to get. I have looked all over the internet and nothing has told be WHERE to find the marking to show me what size piston to get, im sure i could figure it out but what i really want to know is if i need to take the cylinder OFF to get to the markings. I have taken a photo of the markings that i can see on the outside of the cylinder if that's any help. Thanks
  7. A few days ago, I was the happiest guy in the world. I saved up all my pennies to buy a brand new 2017 TX300-- the last one left at the dealership. I take my bike over to my friend's, that is an ex husqvarna dealer, to do some TLC (grease steering stem, linkage, wheels, etc..), and I want to get all the mods I want installed while the bike is clean, so I buy V-Force reeds because the reed block leaked from every pedal (I was somewhat expecting that anyways), and I pop the head off to check squish clearance. To my dismay the cylinder has ~5 deep marks up the cylinder-- deep enough to catch your nail on every one. I call my dealer and email them photos and husqvarna says because the person dismantling the bike isn't a husqvarna technician, they will not be warrantying the bike. This bike has 0.2 hours on the hour meter. I know this wasn't caused by me because I merely started the bike, let it warm up, and did a few pivot turns in the driveway before I shut it down. Husqvarna/KTM has no honour for their manufacturing defects.
  8. I bought a used 2009 XC-W a few months ago. Things got a little fun and laid the bike down which damaged the mapping switch (PN K&S 12-0102). Ordered a Siccass replacement... and it doesn't match the carb jetting. Runs like crap. Looked up the K&S part and it's listed as a Kill Switch and not a map switch. I'm new to bikes and don't know the best path forward; order a K&S? Try and re-jet to match new switch (friend says it's beyond my skills right now) or take to shop and spend money I don't want to. Advice or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

    New Bike! KTM 350 XC-F

I did it. Finally quit beating around the bush and decided to go for it. Now the proud owner of a bran-USED 2014 KTM 350 XC-F. Bought it today, only had the chance to ride it down the road and back and I think I’m in for a treat. Previously had a 250 XC that I bought used November of 2016. Kept buying parts and constantly working on it to get it where I want it, but with out any luck so I decided to go back on the four stroke route. Anyone have any recommendations for aftermarket on it? It already has a lot including a skid plate, boyesen super cooler water pump, hand guards, rear brake rotor guard, radiator braces, mouse bibs in the tires, brand new Dunlop MX 3 S tires, radiator fan, shorai lithium battery, side grab bar, and ktm silicone hoses.

    KTM 350 XC-F Oil

Hi guys, probably a stupid question here, but I figure you can never be too safe. I have some Motorex 15w-50 from my 2010 KTM 250 XC (which I sold) and I was wondering if it would be okay to run in my 2014 KTM 350 XC-F which calls for Motorex 10w-50? What would be the side effects of running a 15w-50 instead of a 10w-50? Also, if you have any suggestions of good oil to run, please feel free to recommend it and give your reasons why. Thanks guys. (Attached is my 350)

    2007 ktm 400 xc-w

I am soon going to be buying a 2007 ktm 400 xc-w. It has a headlight on it, but its old, cracked, and ugly. Im having trouble finding a headlight that is an exact fit for that bike. I am really interested in the baja designs led replacement inserts. Does anybody have any experience or reccomendations for headlights for this bike?

    Help identify my model

Hi everyone forum noob here. Just picked up a 2010 530 xc-w six days. Only issue is when I registered it in my home state (came from OR registered in WA) the d.o.l. says the vin comes back to a 450. The steering stem sticker shows xc-w six days but the displacement isn't readable. Can I tell from the vin? Or? Thanks

    Stink bug killer for PDS

Is there ANYONE out there on this forum who can give a good honest and experienced review of how well the Slavens Stink Bug Killer works on XC-W models? Stink Bug Killer: Slavens Racing I'm 6'2" 190lbs geared up and have no need for a lower seat height, however it's advertised to make the bike much more stable at speeds. Sounds pretty general... Will a stock bike with SBK handle whoops? I'd rather spend $40 than $900 getting suspension reworked (probably still will). I wanna know how much different the bike handles with a SBK installed. Thanks, all
