Hi folks, I'm new to TT. Seeking some help with an old pit bike (shown in pics). I didn't do the mods on this but saw some value and bought it cheap. It hasn't ran since shortly after I got it a couple years ago. When it did run it was blowing blue smoke I assume burning oil.. probably why it was bought so cheap. It has a 124cc Takegawa kit and I'm not sure the brand of clutch kit installed so I'm hoping you guys notice. It doesn't have any oil right now and I'm wondering if dumping oil in the clutch cover treats the whole engine and clutch or if they're separated inside. I think some oil and fresh gas would get it running again but like I said it didn't seem very healthy when it did run. Does the blue smoke I used suggest the top end needs replaced? Are these parts still accessible if so? Lastly, the sprockets don't align well and the rear brake hardly works. It may just need fluid but are there any good swingarm/rear brake kits out there for decent price? I'd about prefer to remove the swingarm/wheel/brake and start new there. Carb is a Mikuni, PC exhaust, if wondering. I'm not sure what the forks are from but they and the front brake work. Thanks for any help. Would love to get it built right and repost!

Hello friends. I'm new here because I've been riding quads for the past decade. However, in this area (NE Arizona) everybody rides dirt bikes. So, I decided to swap to dirt bikes. I've got 4 young kids, so one week ago I found a pristine little 2007 CRF50F for sale in Flagstaff, and talked the original owner down from $1200 to $1000. I picked it up, and the dirt biking days have begun! I already picked up a Ricochet brand skid plate for it that I will be installing soon.

Hey guys im new here and i have a XR50 that needs some help but i want to do it myself without help of dealer. ill post the pictures on imgur and each picture has a caption explain the picture a bit. My main points are i want to find the leaks in my bike and start cleaning up the oil that went everywhere. I drained the left over oil since when i removed my crankshaft case one of the screws started to leak and spill oil. thread locked it screwed it back in.. should be good for a bit. I put a bit of oil in the bike over night to see if can find the leak. Thats it for now but ill be taking more pictures tomorrow. https://imgur.com/a/QNqNx

Hey guys, this is my first post so hopefully I'm posting in the right area! I just bought an '01 XR50 for my son a couple of days ago and overall it seems to be in pretty decent shape. I know that I will definitely need to replace the rear shock and the rear swing arm bushings. For the rear shock I'm not entirely sure of where to start. There is a lot of info online about replacing shocks on these bikes but most are upgrading it or converting it into a pit bike I think. In my case that's not what I'm interested in doing because my son is 3yrs old, approximately 35lbs, and I'm assuming that staying close to stock is perfectly fine. That being said, I don't know that I need to buy an OEM shock, or even that I need to replace the whole shock. Should I just replace the spring and seals? I honestly have no idea. If I buy an aftermarket shock I just want to make sure that its the right size for what I'm intending on doing here. I grew up riding dirt bikes and have worked on them a bit but never the suspension components. Thanks guys! Cam

Hello friends, My youngest rider recently lost the only key to our 2007 Honda CRF50F. I read a few comments on TT saying something like "just unplug it." But nobody explained what that meant, or went into any detail. So today I took the time to figure that out, which was quite simple. And YES! The mini runs just fine without any of the keyed ignition present. Here is a video...

I read somewhere the other day about putting a carb from a 70 on a 50 for a performance upgrade - did I read that right and is it legit? I'm guessing you'd have to tweak the intake a bit and then also use a pod style filter instead of the stock airbox? Also, if you don't have any other mods other than the carb, is it even worthwhile?

Has anyone put a 10 inch z50 rim on the back of a Crf70? I know people put the 8inch z50 rear tires on the 50’s so wondering if a 10 inch z50 rim would fit on a 70

Hello friends, It's been two weeks now since we purchased our 2007 Honda CRF50F, and my 8-year-old has really taken to it. I'm so impressed how he can run the whole show himself, from getting it out of the garage, to starting it up (ignition, fuel, choke and all, correctly) and putting it away when he's done. He has also impressed me with his comprehension of the gearing, and knowing when to shift. Here's a short video of him in action from this afternoon.

So i put a new crank in my 06 crf100 after it has been sitting for 2 or 3 years. Got it all together and it runs and idles fine and if i give it gas when its in neutral its fine but when i put it in gear and give gas it bogs down bad, it seems like it runs alittle better with coke but hard to tell. So i have cleaned the carb like 2 or 3 times and that didnt work so i rebuild the carb and i have played with the pilot screw in about every setting and still has a really bad bog. Hope someone knows what im explaining or has had the same problem. Thanks

I have a 2000 XR50. It takes about 15-20 kicks to get it started. When I can get it started, it runs rough for up to 5 seconds then it kills itself. I have a second 2000 XR50 that runs perfectly. I have been using it as my known good parts source. Swapped from the good bike to the bad bike to find the fix: Intake/carb/air box as a whole unit. CDI box Gas tank (including petcock, and fuel hose to the carb) Ignition module Exhaust pipe Spark plug New: Top end gaskets Engine oil Gas The valves have been lapped. The head is sealed up tight. Confirmed using a Cylinder Leakage Tester Kit (OTC brand 5609 model). … and the problem remains… It takes about 15-20 kicks to get it started. When I can get it started, it runs rough for up to 5 seconds then it kills itself.
