****Crf 150r fork seal replacement help ****

I am replacing my front forks after seal started leaking. I am currently experiencing trouble getting the basebolt on the bottom of my forks off. It spins but does not want to come out it's the same for both forks what am I doing wrong

Pick up a 24" length of 3/4" square aluminum tube at your local hardware store. Use it to hold the cartridge by sliding it down the damping rod to engage the spring perch. Then you can remove the bottom bolt without the cartridge spinning.

How do I engage the spring perch

The four corners of the square tube will engage notches in the perch. It's the same concept as the Honda special tool for the job. If you don't have a service manual, there one for download on the interwebs... Google is your friend ?

I got the tube but can't get it to engage

It's like I can't get the tube to catch it just spins inside the fork

I got my bottom bolt out by compressing the shock but my problem is getting it to tighten back up. I compressed it as far is I could but still couldn’t get it to tighten like it was before. Any suggestions or is it not possible to get it as tight as it came from factory?

Impact wrench but make sure the threads are started and don't hammer it once it's tight
