  1. I guess it's possible but I'm not really sure what could be wrong regarding the piston that could cause this problem. It's starts and revs fine when I first start, no weird sounds or anything
  2. Those look the same as the forks on my 91 Cr250. A real pain to work on as far as I know.
  3. I have a 91 Cr250. Replaced the top end and now I'm unable to make the bike run properly. Has a gnarly pipe and airstriker carb with factory settings. Bike starts with a few kicks, has good compression, runs okay for the first three or four minutes but once it gets warm it refuses to rev and can barely move under it's own power. It still has good compression once warm. I've already setup the HPP system and confirmed it works, pulled the carb and cleaned it multiple times. I've confirmed no restrictions in the exhaust or intake. It feels somewhat like a jetting issue but it runs so poorly that I don't even know where to start in terms of going richer or leaner. I don't see how it could possibly run this bad at factory recommended settings for this carb. Which makes me think there might be something I'm missing. Any ideas? Thanks
  4. I think it depends on where you live, around here a bike like that would go for at least $2500.
  5. I wonder if the new 300s are detuned slightly.. I have a 99 300exc and can keep up with the 450s in the wide open stuff if not pass them.
  6. 91 Cr250, cause its light, snappy and oh so much fun. Best of all is smoking guys on their new $10k bikes on my old $600 Honda.
  7. Personally, I would stick with the 18 especially if you're running off-road (less pinch flats).
  8. Nice bike! These older Cr250s are wicked fast when set up right. Good luck with the build
  9. The bike has a pwk airstriker with a 42 pilot, jd jetting blue needle clip in middle position and a 175 main. It starts in 6 or 7 kicks cold no choke, idles well and runs strong everywhere. When its warm it usually starts first kick but every 6 or 7 times it takes like 50 kicks and when it finally does get going its boggy for a few seconds before you gotta open the throttle up to keep it going, after that its fine again. I'm stumped because of how inconsistent it is. Any ideas? Thanks Edit: Also you can tell when its going to start because 1 or 2 kicks before it starts, it kicks back pretty hard. It does this especially when cold.
  10. I would do it, my 91 is great. 23 years old but I have no problem keeping up with the newer bikes and the engine has a good power spread for the woods.
  11. Yeah that gen doesn't have the best reputation. I've heard they tire you out quick because of the stiff frame and harsh ride.
  12. Not a big fan of the graphics but looks like you got a nice bike and a solid platform to build on. Plans for any upgrades?
